Helmut EHNES's Biography
Helmut Ehnes was educated at the Technical University of Munich in Germany as a Mechanical Engineer.
•For more than 35 years, he worked in the German Statutory Accident Insurance Scheme, first as a labour inspector in mining, quarries, and the whole raw materials industry.
•Later he became the director for the prevention department of BG RCI and was responsible for the whole range of prevention activities offered to 35.000 German companies, from inspection and consulting to research to training, motivation, and education.
•Under his leadership the VISION ZERO Strategy including its famous 7 Golden Rules for a prevention culture at workplaces has been formulated and implemented - for mining and chemical industry, in Germany and globally.
•Currently he holds management positions in the International Social Security Association (ISSA):
•He is the Chairman of the VISION ZERO Steering Committee of ISSA
•He is the President of the ISSA Prevention Section for the Mining Industry (ISSA Mining) and the
•Technical Secretary of the ISSA Prevention Section for Global Trade (ISSA Trade)
•He is the Chair of the International Jury for the VISION ZERO Safety & Health Award of the International Lime Association (ILA)
