This was first time in 17 years that Boyz II Men and Mariah performed this song together live.... Usually Mariah performs it by herself with someone else doing the Boyz II Men parts and Boyz II Men usually performs their parts with the crowd singing Mariah's parts.

I don't understand why so many ugly comments for her. We all know that her vocal cords haven't been right for a while, that her nodules prevent her from singing like she used to. They should have more empathy, she just wants to be there for her fans who have given her so much love. Let's love more and criticize less.
Why is everyone making excuses? Weather, humidity and whatnot affect every singer, but they still deliver great performances. Her voice has changed and not because of the weather. Still a legend, but these performances are painful, first and foremost for herself. You can tell by her facial expressions..

I think Mariah Carey had considered hiatus to take care her main instrument, just like other Divas doing out there. She obviously cannot sing here already and just dubbing lyrics to lyrics. I know she's great, and she will always be. She's an icon, and doesn't need to prove herself. But, I don't mean no harm nor bashing her, I am saying, she should've considered taking long break to take care of herself and her main instrument. That's all.

The only reason y I’m disappointed is because prior to this year she kept saying her voice was in the best shape it’s been in a long time but this is literally the worst it’s been ever.

she said that during the quarantine (2 years ago) which was true, her videos singing Acapella on instagram and her performances from her house are proof of that, but it's been a long time since that and her voice has nodules which makes it vary in short periods of time
Your voice can be in amazing shape…but if you knew anything about the vocals when it comes to singing, you’d know that there are several factors that hinder your ability to sing your best…the (Vegas) dry air, a cold, allergies, lack of sleep, etc. Y’all really love to get on here and spew negativity, but the gag is, at her worst…she still has proven herself for over 30 years as a singer AND songwriter.

Her current tessitura has hole. She could sing properly in chest up to B4, whispers up to D5, and then jumps into her whistle. So, rearranging her songs won't help. 😢
When the track came in at 4:16 the background singers all gave the dj a thumbs up (and also that Thank you Jesus look) lol If i knew the dj i would tip him too. He really saved the ending 👏🏾

She pushed the envelope and made those records during her earlier years, cementing her place in history. But factors like age, hormone, rest, etc could affect a live performance. If her voice was not there that day, nothing can do about it. She could not change the song and she wanted to sing live with Boyz2Men. We just have to accept that she has past her prime. Nowadays whenever I hear a nice song, like Miley Cyrus’ Flowers, and I almost always think Mariah’s capable to sing that. BTW, I watched the whole performance from another video, the beginning was ok, but after one or two songs, she’s already sipping tea, then struggling with One Sweet Day; She complained about the smoke on stage. After a break and supposed wardrobe change, she came back more relaxed, and much less smoky on stage. She did well with We Belong Together, and using it as outro was nice.

The damage is definitely irreversible, and it's getting worse year after. She has some good moments, but whenever her voice isn't at good condition, it seem to sound worse compare than the past years.
Should she sacrifice the whistle notes and have the vocal cord surgery to at least be able to sing the old songs? I would. At least her voice would be functional and she’d get her some range back. It’s better to do it before she gets too much older to keep her reputation.

I think she may come to a point where she has no choice. There are some very good doctors that can basically perform miracles. Is a whistle register worth your whole vocal range? I agree with her about not wanting to lose it but someone should explain to her the value we receive of her full, unique voice version a whistle note here or there. These aren’t the same surgeons who performed Lucile Ball daughter’s. These surgeries are so easy they do mine in literally 5 minutes. Some of the surgeries are also just temporary. You don't understand. She's shaped her nodules around her whole Carlson and vocal and music! Like the whistles, whisper singing, tone, rasp, i mean her whole singing style come from nodules. It's like getting rid of her entire self that voice saved her life.
My sensation is that she is in a battlefield, but she has lost this one. Very shaky, unstable and unsustained notes. Even her absolute ear did not prevent her to go out tune many times. Also it’s so clear she lip syncs the big notes because after it she comes to a lower octave notes, her chords were not at the 5th one. However, boys II made a great job.
I’m not really shading, just being sincere. Hope she’ll work on her recovery now, resting is not enough. In fact, I hope there is a solution for this problem, because the damage is real.

Why is everyone making excuses? Weather, humidity and whatnot affect every singer, but they still deliver great performances. Her voice has changed and not because of the weather. Still a legend, but these performances are painful, first and foremost for herself. You can tell by her facial expressions..

Remember when she had a vocal strain in 2014 but came back stronger in 2018?. she do had a vocal bad day. She stated in an interview, her vocal performance depends on how many hours of sleep/rest she get. I believe shes workin in the studio right now & that cause her vocal strain due to lack of rest. The only reason y I’m disappointed is because prior to this year she kept saying her voice was in the best shape it’s been in a long time but this is literally the worst it’s been ever.
Nodules could be part of the reason why her voice like this because the weather and other things can affect your nodules also she has been in the studio recording since 2020 for an album so her voice could be tired because of that
she said that during the quarantine (2 years ago) which was true, her videos singing Acapella on instagram and her performances from her house are proof of that, but it's been a long time since that and her voice has nodules which makes it vary in short periods of time
Your voice can be in amazing shape…but if you knew anything about the vocals when it comes to singing, you’d know that there are several factors that hinder your ability to sing your best…the (Vegas) dry air, a cold, allergies, lack of sleep, etc. Y’all really love to get on here and spew negativity, but the gag is, at her worst…she still has proven herself for over 30 years as a singer AND songwriter.

She pushed the envelope and made those records during her earlier years, cementing her place in history. But factors like age, hormone, rest, etc could affect a live performance. If her voice was not there that day, nothing can do about it. She could not change the song and she wanted to sing live with Boyz2Men. We just have to accept that she has past her prime. Nowadays whenever I hear a nice song, like Miley Cyrus’ Flowers, and I almost always think Mariah’s capable to sing that. BTW, I watched the whole performance from another video, the beginning was ok, but after one or two songs, she’s already sipping tea, then struggling with One Sweet Day; She complained about the smoke on stage. After a break and supposed wardrobe change, she came back more relaxed, and much less smoky on stage. She did well with We Belong Together, and using it as outro was nice.

I think she may come to a point where she has no choice. There are some very good doctors that can basically perform miracles. Is a whistle register worth your whole vocal range? I agree with her about not wanting to lose it but someone should explain to her the value we receive of her full, unique voice version a whistle note here or there. These aren’t the same surgeons who performed Lucile Ball daughter’s. These surgeries are so easy they do mine in literally 5 minutes. Some of the surgeries are also just temporary. For example, if her voice is spasming, they will inject Botox, if the vocal folds are too loose, they inject filler.

My sensation is that she is in a battlefield, but she has lost this one. Very shaky, unstable and unsustained notes. Even her absolute ear did not prevent her to go out tune many times. Also it’s so clear she lip syncs the big notes because after it she comes to a lower octave notes, her chords were not at the 5th one. However, boys II made a great job.
