    The hands off mode is only available on highways which have been identified to be compatible. You can see the compatible highways highlighted in green if you go to the map, select 'suggestions' and then the 'availability'. Here in SK, almost all of the major highways don't support it (yet) and the availability hasn't changed in the 10 months I have owned my 2024 X5. You would think #1 highway would be compatible, but it's currently not.

    Very cool. A few years ago I used the drivers assist technology in the 5-series in Europe on highways over the course of 3 weeks. It worked quite well but I had to touch the wheel about every 15 seconds. One thing I noticed in this video is that when he activated the turn signal it immediately changed lanes and it scared him because it basically went into the red car's blind spot. I don't change lanes when there's a car in the next lane over because they might change lanes at the same time and then you have a possible accident. I think the driver's assistance should read two lanes over to alleviate that risk.

    • @DenverCoutu
      @DenverCoutu  8 месяцев назад

      Well the system does sense the cars position and if the red car was also changing lanes at the same time the system would cancel the auto lane change

    Hi! do you know why always the SUVs get the good drivers assist technology. In Australia we have the driving assistant professional package which I have on my 2020 330e, so thats ACC with steering assistant but it doesn't have the lane change assistant or enhanced hands free driving. However a little while ago it was announced that all X5, X6 and X7 models can use the lane change assistant with their driving assistant pro, mean while every other model that was physically capable of the upgrade are not receiving it. Even on my 2023 330e LCI that I will be receiving in a few weeks won't have the function only the regular driving assistant professional, do you know why this is the case?

    I just bought the ix50 and highway assist is VERY quirky. Works on some roads, not others. Constantly asking me to put my hands back on steering wheel which kinda defeats the whole purpose of hands free and tough to trust the system when there are cars all over the place zooming in and out of lanes. Not working all that great for me.

      Having driven 2023 Teslas and owning a 2024 440, idrive8 and BMW's FSD is where Tesla was in 2014-2015. The 440 that I have is at best quiry and very rudimentary at best. the 440s only allow "hands free" under very limited conditions, and a max of 45 mph is one of them. Not bad for $1,700 US.
