    As a day-one P100S owner with ~50 miles on the odometer, most of which are at top-speed with full acceleration active, lemme just that I completely disagree on the matter of the torsion front and rear suspension.
    In both city streets and light off-trail, the travel of the suspension in terms of height/drop and responsiveness to variability in road surface pairs perfectly with the 10.5" tubeless tires to basically eat up any roughness underneath the wheels. Yes, Nami and other offer high-end, exotic suspension setups with insane amounts of travel that blow the P100S' torsion system out of the water, but at this price point and for this intended use case and with this feature set, they absolutely nailed it. As a city commuter with insane range and top speed, let alone Segway's QC build quality, it's hard to criticize the real-world performance of the P100s' suspension system, both front and rear and tires.
    Just my two cents.

The fact that it can be charged when in indoor mode is mind-blowing, and the brushless 750W motor delivering 80Nm torque and reaching a top speed of 20mph is impressive. I also have the ninebot max g30 and I use a fast charger that charges in 3 hours which uses the smaller circular port on the side right next to the standard 3 prong port on the side of the scooter.
    This new P100s of mine doesn’t have that smaller circular port, just the 3 prong port, does anyone know of any fast chargers sold/ made for the Segway P100s scooter?

    There is no substitute for an actual key or physical means by which to start a vehicle.
    The problem with all these touch systems is that when they fail they are expensive to repair.
    A simple switch costs very little, this key card when it fails will probably cost a fortune to repair, and judging by the fact that it's a scooter that will probably go out of fashion very quickly getting hold of replacement parts will become a nightmare probably.

    • @HypnosofSleep
      @HypnosofSleep Год назад +2

      If it's the same as the ninebotmax..which I believe I just read it is.... it bluetooth as well as NFC so that means it will work with the segway app. So losing a key won't be the end all be all or if the nfc its self breaks. ..its just a extra feature not the ONLY feature.

    • @flitsies
      @flitsies Год назад +1

      @@HypnosofSleep I suspect they will be tied together in some way so if one breaks the other won't work, if not that makes it vulnerable to attack I would have thought.
      It makes the thing look good by removing a key, and while new it's probably great, but once it starts getting old and things start to fail, it could become a nightmare to fix having to replace the whole system that controls the scooter if parts are not available.

    • @BlitzPacker
      @BlitzPacker Год назад +3

      there are 2 ways to turn on the p100s scooter
      1. nfc keycard
      2. by pressing the power button on the scooter and entering a 4 digit password that you can create in the segway app
      you can also disable the nfc card in the app if somehow you lost it or got stolen, to prevent the thief or anyone possesing the keycard from powering the scooter on
      there you have it

    • @flitsies
      @flitsies Год назад +2

      @@BlitzPacker Yes I get it I really do, and that is why I am saying what I'm saying.
      You find a lot of these systems that make use of computerised systems end up as land fill or just spare parts once the company that makes them either no longer exists or decides to no longer support the vehicle.
      You find it with many different things.
      Also what happens when the app no longer works on your phone, I'm sure it has an app to work, but what if the company simply decides it's not going to update the app to work on your latest phone, you are stuffed.
      I've had stuff like this before, not a scooter but other things only to discover when it comes to the app it simply stops working on the newer phones or there is no support and so on.
      So yep I do get it, when it's new it's great, but when it starts to fail and the company doesn't want to know anymore on that device it will become junk.
      But hey while it's new it great, so long as you don't mind being tied to that company with it.

    gave mine back after 1 month and 300km driven. Rear suspension is damaged. left arm is not working. rear fender just dropped because it came loose too. its a design fault because every one of the two suspension arms can work independently and cause the wheelaxis to tilt sideways and get loose. its a big dissapointment. i will try the GT1 now on which the rear suspension arm is a U and not two seperate arms.

      Hey Ropey,
      Not sure if you recall, but we chatted in comments leading up to the launch of the P-series. I now have ~50 miles on the odometer of a pair of P100S, so I can give feedback as follows:
      ---
      Normal Sport mode ("Unlimited Speed Mode") is active when "Sport" appears in white on your P100S hud, but it's still inherently limited in terms of max torque output and 25 MPH top-end.
      To unrestrict it, you'd need to have Sport active on the P100S hud, head to the app, and toggle on "Higher Speed in S mode." You'll know it's active when Sport changes from white on the HUD to dark red. At that point, you'll feel the max 1350W peak motor output and the 30 MPH top speed.
      ---
      Real-world range seems to honor Segway's cited numbers. For you reference, here they are below. You won't achieve 50+ unless you ride at cruise under ~15 MPH. In normal "Drive" mode at limited ~20 MPH, you're likely to see ~40-45 miles with a 165 payload.
      Direct from Segway:
      "The P100S offers a max range* of up to 62 miles (100 km) and a tested range* of 33.9 miles (54.6 km).
      The P65 offers a max range* of up to 40 miles (65 km) and a tested range* of 21 miles (33.8 km).
      *Max range: Tested while riding with a full battery, 75 kg (165 lbs) payload, 25°C (77°F), at the speed of 9.9 mph (16km/h).
      *Tested range: Tested while riding with a full battery, 75kg (165 lbs) payload, 25°C (77°F), at the speed of 24.8 mph (40km/h)."

    - TPU suspension is very prone to failure while doing a worse job at dampening than a hydraulic suspension
    - wired brakes instead of hydraulics are just a joke at this pricepoint imo
    - the actual range is usually almost half of what's advertised, so expect around 60kms but not much more
    - built-in charger sounds convenient, but heats up the internal components - this design already failed in the Ninebot Max G30
    - looks like a gamer laptop with these red accents / RGB - seriously. why.
