Thanks for the outstanding summary and pre-taste of Cartagena. You did a lot to iron out the wrinkles of our anxiety on a city we know only from the the adventures of Joan Wilder and Juan Valdez. One question: Do we need to acquire Colombian pesos for taxis and tips? Or do U.S. Dollars suffice, as in most Mexican port cities?
Just for tips and taxi, US dollars are fine (be sure to have smaller bills handy). This was our only port stop in Columbia, so getting local pesos wasn't practical for us. On our food tour, all the locations were included, which made it easier. But to shop on your own locally, it's better to have local pesos. Restaurants usually take credit cards.
@kathryntooker1607 I tried copy-pasting the entire address (yeah, it's a big one) and it worked just now (pasted on the browser). Let me know if you're having trouble.
Yes, indeed. The bus is a welcome relief from the heat! By terminal, I assume you mean Port Oasis Eco Park (there is no "terminal" per se). The Eco Park is outdoor, but has a large shopping building with bathrooms. Cabs are a short walk from there, all under cover.
Your port rundowns are the best!
Thanks much!
gREAT VIDEO... who will travel with us on the ships? 2024
Thank you!

Would you share the name of the food tour? The link is incomplete.

Does the shuttle and port terminal at Cartagena have air conditioning?

@@ThePortLowdown thank you
FWIW the g is pronounced with an h sound not a g.
Cool, thanks for the correction!
@@ThePortLowdownYes. Say: Carta henya.
It is Cartagena de Indias Colombia! COL! Not Columbia! Columbia is in a different part of the World. :)))
Ok, thank you for the correction!
My friend, its spelled COLOMBIA, not Columbia. Please
Thanks for the correction!
