Glad to see you give that whistle and the buffalo come running. I remember you training them when you just had the small herd. Loved seeing them come running to you. Of course cubes don’t hurt anything either!

I learned early on to train Cattle to come when I rattled a couple ears of corn in a bucket. They would come running if they heard me rattle the bucket and it was an excellent way for me to move them from one pasture to another. That was back forty years ago and I was taught by an old farmer how to handle animals. It does work....

The bison always seem to come when you whistle or shake the bucket. When you are whistling for them and you see them coming, do they ever stop coming if you stop whistling?

I saw it before at a park. I learned that bison do respond from you. Working on a handling facility. Bison consultant wasn’t impressed with my not having one already. I’m not a hobbyist and I hope I make it past the 5 year quitting mark. 60 acre ranch almost enclosed and a third location planned. Consultant was rough. I have to find someone willing to show me how I can. Not tell me why I can’t. I didn’t think 70-100 head was a hobby?

I am wondering why you don't use dogs as we do here. Helicopters, jackaroos and jillaroos on horseback, then the dogs. Basically the dogs do the majority of work. They have to be seen to be believed. We have buffalo rather than bison, but the size would be the same, probably their temperate similar, except ours here would not be as used to seeing humans..lol. I live in Australia. Forgot that fact.. love your videos.💕

They tend to injure dogs a lot. One gentleman in Oklahoma has had really good luck with mini Australian shepherd though. The small size makes them not seem as much of a threat that the bison want to attack. Thank you!
