But is it not the LDS church that tries to take away their traditions? It tells them their traditional religions are not right or lack full truth and can only be saved through a western style Jesus. They make them wear traditional western clothing if they want to be missionaries too. And do they not tell them that they must wear a western style white shirt to sacrament as well?
@@stelladavis7832 No, they celebrate with us our traditions! My great grandfather was a well known medicine man and the only church that didn't despise him and call him a witch was the LDS church. The missionaries became dear friends of his and they called him Chei, which means grandpa. He loved them so much. When my mother was in boarding school she was called all sorts of names from the nuns and looked down on. One christmas she went home for a visit and brought home 5 bundles of christmas goodies from different churches. Her grandpa asked her who gave them to her and she pointed to each one and said which churches they came from he just nodded his head and when they took her back after the break he went to the office and told them that he did not want any church except the LDS church to associate with his granddaughter. Some chapels will also let members of our tribe to use the gym to celebrate after they did ceremonies like the 1st laugh ceremony.
Those who come from a different religious background and decide to investigate the LDS Church are usually surprised to find that the church only wants to add to the truths already found in their own religion. The concepts and practices that aren't entirely true will slowly, but surely, fall away from what they know is true. Once a person sincerely begins to investigate the Church, and change their life to be in accordance to the teachings found therein, they will feel significantly better (I'm not sure how else to word it) and come to know that the LDS Church is Christ's one and only restored church and, because of that, we have access to so many blessings and knowledge in this short mortal life of ours.

The reason missionaries dress the way they do is because most of the world has decided to dress up in this way and they don't want their way of dress to cause people to reject them before they can share their knowledge. It's unfortunate that the world is like this, but it is. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has never forced anyone to go on a mission. It is a choice made by the individual. A single tree in a barren field isn't necessarily very impressive. But when you combine many tall trees, a river meandering through fields into a lake, set up against a majestic snow-capped mountain range, with grasses and wildflowers filling the landscape, it becomes incredibly beautiful.
