I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! This is my last upload for the year, but I’ll return early January jumping back on the Escalade. I also forgot to add the merge pipe into my final tally for the exhaust cost. So the final cost for me came to 287.00 instead of 207.00. See ya soon!
❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹
Thanks to this video. Christmas is coming early.
Hey Matt
Love the video
Can’t wait for more! Especially on the
T/a. Before you do the Escalade.
Merry Christmas
Happy holidays Matt! I wanna see you finalize that volvo steering pump!
Awesome video, Matt!! Thanks for the great content and tip on exhaust angles to connect different areas. That's much simpler than I thought.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours!!
That reaction to the no exhaust was gold!!
Love the TA videos. Your startup and flinch at the beginning was the best. Laughed so hard!
Im a big Trans am fan. I cant wait to see the test drive. Congrats
Glad your making more videos. Got worried you were no longer making any. Watching your channel has had a major influence on me in getting a 78 Firebird this past summer. I have a 98 TA and it's 90% done with it so why not start another one.
I loved hearing that exhaust!!!! It's getting closer!!!!!😇🦅
Hope you have a good Christmas and excited to see what happens with the escalade.
Perfect timing on this vid. I need to re-do my Suburban’s exhaust. Wish I could just take it to a shop, but shops have screwed it up over the last 5 years.
your craftmanship and dedication to doing things by the book is always nice to see. you do a great job of showing us the "at home" of building a badass car.
Great job, Matt! She sounds awesome! Nice to see the chicken get its scream back.
Very nice work on that header wrap. 👌 - it's not easy to get them looking as good as you did. Merry Christmas Brotherman
I am 100% with you on putting a cat on it. I can't stand that stink day in day out. For the power difference its not worth it. Its not ever been a power diff I could personally feel on the 4 or 5 I have done. Plus it gives them a much more mellow tone that will still sound really good. Anywayszz, excellent choice brotherms
Glad to see you working on this again . I wish I could finish my 1984 z
Let me applaud your tenacity.
#1: it's cold up there, I'm in Alabama
#2: you're working without a lift (so am I)
#3: you're repurposing when possible (exhaust system)
#4: you're innovating solutions
On top of it all, you're video editing skills are top shelf.
Nice explanation on getting to the wye connection... Cool job!!
I don't mind having that transverse muffler on my trans am. May not be a "straight through" design, but it works.
Those thumbnails are fire !!
Love the T/A stuff!
Awesome video! Merry Christmas
Yes, hallelujah! Trans Am CONTENT! "Yes Virginia, there IS a Santa-Claus!"
Man that sounds good!
Sounds great! Makes me miss my 92 camaro a lot.
Mufflex performance out of jersey makes 3.5" and 4" single exhaust for 3rd and 4th birds and maro.
Beautiful looks great bro. Never thought about those ties for the wrap👍🏾👍🏾 word of advice, put a converter in it. Anything but stock, I’m taking mine out as we speak because of not touching it…
What converter did you go with initially? I have a zl1 converter which is a twin disk.
@@lsxmatt the bone stock 2015 Silverado 6l80e converter 🤦🏾♂️
yea it won’t even move right now… big mistake on my part….
Cam sounds rowdy but nice.
Hey Matt thanks for awesome videos I been waiting patiently lol
Ready to see this thing rip wana see it go up against the camaro to see which is faster
Why didn’t you go with the PWM fuel system? Does this return style (LS style) fueling work just as good?
I’m inspired!
Number one ❤
Fantastic!!!! I am building my ‘89 GTA in a similar fashion and could REALLY use some help/advice with one thing: I am using a LS2 with a 6l90 and am wondering what I’m going to do about a transmission controller. I really want to make sure I have manual control available for paddle shifters and a gear indicator display. I haven’t made any decisions yet as far as PCM/TCM and harness yet…. This part is driving me crazy! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Have you looked into Holley? I think they have a terminator system that can control the 6 speeds now.
I will definitely look into it now! Thank you, Matt! You are planning on using paddle shifters, aren’t you? What is your plan to make them work? Or do you not want to give that away just yet?
Either way, have a Merry Christmas!🎄
Sounds great!!!! Never nice work.
Nice!
Ways away still, but I've been watching as much LS swappage as possible on 3rd gen Firebirds. (itchin to do my own now!)
Seen a Gen 2 TA LS swap video yesterday & it got me thinking.
Would it be easier to LS swap a 74 to 76 Trans Am then a Gen 3? (my fav years)
I would assume it would be less work, as there would be Much less electrical & wiring harness fiasco on a 2nd Gen then a 3rd. (probably cheaper too)
& it seems theres cheaper Gen 2s around us then Gen 3s (north east Pa as I caught the Harry's mention haha)
Going to look up some Gen 2 swaps now for more education but still asking.
The gen II 70-81 f-body is indeed an easier swap exactly for the reasons you mentioned.
The biggest drawback is the gen III fuel tank is already set up for fuel injection, the gen II isn't.
Don't cheap out and try an external pump. Figure out how to get it into the fuel tank.
Tanks, Inc has solutions.
@@fatbastardwithabeard ty sir.
Ya I won't be half assing anything.
Still a ways away and been working on mostly older motorcycles for the past decade+, but the itch to do to an LS swap and refresh an old Firebird instead of motorcycles is in full throttle.
Lots of work there…… to my understanding and thinking…. Shouldn’t the cat be as close to the headers/ manifolds as possible?
Been waiting yessirrr!!
what kit did you use for battery relocation
Bmr
Did the cat help the smell? I'm going to run a cat because I don't want to smell like a walking gas can. Wife isn't impressed either. 😂
Good work. It's coming together!
Just during the warm up it didn’t smell bad at all. I’m assuming once it’s on the road and really up to temp it should be even better. As of right now definitely way better than my camaro.
Outstanding work!! The Trans Am sound GOOD!!
Love this build. Love the music. I cannot wait to see it in the road. Keep on keeping on!
one pipe wonder
What part of the tune makes it where the throttle comes down quicker? I thought it was just a reaction from drive by wire.
The ls stuff has throttle follower adjustments to fix that, I’m assuming the gen 5’s are probably the same.
Nice job but will the cat be effective that far back
Exhaust doesn’t smell super rich like my Camaro so it seems to be. Probably not effective enough to pass smog though.
niceee its coming along great. i know your a little far from south jersey but if u ever wana redo the exhaust for it let me know my father in law does all.custom exhaust work and.i can get you a hook up on it all can mandrel bend up to 3 inch pipe
Awesome brother couldn't wait to hear it run !!! Merry Christmas 🎅 see you next year!
That's too far back for the cat to light off
It seems to be ok, just takes a little longer to warm up. Exhaust doesn’t burn the eyes like my Camaro so it’s definitely working in that aspect. Probably not effective enough to pass smog but this car doesn’t need to.
What are you thinking paint wise?
Same color just re-painted.
@@lsxmattnice! Great work
Sounds gobs more gooder.
Nice sound for what you have in it. Can you remind me who makes those exhaust manifold bolts? Thanks!
I bought them through head games motor works. Ticon makes them
Thanks for the info. Those are nice bolts. They’re a little pricy though! Bookmarked for future reference. Thanks!
