I have learnt that you can fast against other things like your phone, especially social media, things that destruct you from God maybe while you are not feeling well. But food too is very essential to fast against in order to be drawn more to God just like he said, to be in the spirit. All to God's glory! 😊❤🎉
I was told in another podcast anything other than food / water is not biblical and it's a sacrifice not fasting!🤷🏻♀️ it really confused me.cause I thought like you.anything taking my time away from God or distracting me .social media is like an addiction. So fasting it and turning my time/ attention to seeking God in his word & prayer .I would think God would honor.

Well somethings it may not be directly biblical but you can actually align it to. Ephesians 6 says we should put on the whole amour of God. Romans 12:2 says we should be transformed by the renewing of our mind. But he was right when he said people use it just for their interest instead of going the food way. That is only when you have health risk and you have to eat. Well that is what I think. But God knows best and I agree with him that going against food is the best way. Mmhhnn.

I too smoked since I was 13 years old, I’m 62 now and it is tough to do it on your own, you must rely on God and the Holy Spirit to remove it all for you and pray for it daily, especially during this fast (hopefully you are doing the fast with us) and then never doubt that your prayers are being answered now! Day 5 is going well for me. I'm going to walk and have a very light leg workout at the gym. I have to keep my muscle mass from totally deteriorating during this fast.
I found out that from day 3 on, growth hormone goes up, which help maintain muscle mass during extended fasting. Which I find pretty amazing:) Still good to keep moving though. Good luck and blessings to you!

I feel like I am not good enough. Some of us can't fast 21 days on only olee water bin diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I fast 2 meals a day. I eat 1 meal and all day long. I drink water and a protein drink. I would like to think that the Lord knows my heart that the Lord knows how much I love him and that I am doing the best that I can listening to this. I feel condemned because I can not do what the rest is doing.

Fasting has always been a very powerful tool for me to get closer to GOD whenever I feel like I'm away from GOD
