It can’t be understated just how admirable it is that the team is listening to feedback. The new quality of life tweaks and content are all wonderful additions. Can’t wait to see what all comes in the future!
The way sonic team is handling this game makes me hopeful for the next mainline game
seriously. one of the big complaints i kept hearing was that upgrade thing where you could only really do it one at a time, and its incredible that they really did listen to consumer feedback
Morio Kishimoto replied to a comment about the drop dash and spin dash making a return. I can see them adjusting the drop dash with the spin dash possibly coming in the final update or in the next entry.

It’s great but having it be replaced by the usual boss music or resetting after a try again; is a bit of an annoyance.

@@themc3140 overall, net positive in my eyes. it gave me a little something new to return to with collecting the songs and figuring out for myself which ones made it in. It's also nice theming the music I'm listening to with which areas on which islands I'm on.
I loved the DBZ reference to Piccolo's chant at the beginning

I am so glad we can now level up in bulk. Leveling up one at a time was a real pain! This is actually really exciting, and this is just the first wave!!!
I am not at all kidding when I tell you that it took 40 real life minutes to level up Speed and Rings to 99 from level 1, after obtaining ~4,500 Koco from the fishing mini game with Big.

Of course I literally just finished the platinum a week ago. Could've shaved off an hour of time if I had waited for the update lol

@TheHutchIsOn okay but I maxed my stats before the update on Switch, which gives you zero rewards other than an easier time playing Battle Rush
For anyone stuck on the two music notes that appear to be floating on the Chaos Island Map, you jump in the big crater and go under ground for the first one and the second is on the end of the giant ancient cannon.

Thanks dude, I even went down there but a majority of it is one way so I had to be on the main/biggest island and go down through there.
I don't even think this is the first time I didn't know something was underground, either but here's to an honorary 101%.

I really love the Photo Mode from the game update! It's fun to capture whatever photos and using different filters and angles I like. It's like capturing memories from the game. Photo Mode is my favourite I've ever enjoyed so far from the game update!
The narrator's voice was Evan from Tails' Channel. Yup, just like he did in Sonic Origins and Frontiers: Speed Strats, individually.
The photo mode will be great for the memories!
I do wish there was more variety with the filters though but that could just be me
My favourite part of the update is the Battle Rush. I mostly just wanna destroy the Titans lol
still wait for the story DLC!

now THIS is what we need in Sonic games, updates every once in a while to make the game better! SEGA really IS learning from their mistakes, eh?

Well that line has been uttered in the original English Dub mostly as to why TFS referenced it for how ridiculous it sounded.

This was a really nice content update overall. The jukebox is my new favorite feature they added to Frontiers so far. It’s fun to run around the maps and listen to soundtracks from previous games.

Literal hours of added content, vastly expanding the post game. Fucking insane, this is awesome. And something about listening to Kingdom Valley on Kronos/Rhea and Ouranos, complete with day and night cycle, just feels so right. My only issue is the photo mode, the camera hitbox is so huge that it makes it hard to get a good angle because you're always getting stuck on the world geometry- why give it a hitbox at all? Just let it clip through geometry.

Eh, I guess Sonic Origins did set the bar for what could be DLC very low, but I'm more surprised by the extra characters being free than anything.

It might be integeral to the story, judging by the "New Story", and if that's the case, making it paid would be a terrible move.
I am not suprised that features that should be there from the beginning are free. Sega released game in early access and now slowly gets towards releasing full game with "DLCs". Sad.

That's a pretty neat update! Glad they made the interaction quick and ability to skip the high speed animation... I hope the draw distance fixed or gets fixed in future updates!
Jukebox mode reminds me of Sonic Generations and that’s GREAT!
The fact that all the DLC being released is free simply shows how much of a passion project these updates are.
The Sonic Team really does care!
I think it's really sad how gaming has come to a point where updates being free is a surprise for people instead of being the standard

Updates are simy bug fixes and stuff like that.
DLC is extra content that is meant to add to the game as if it where more of it.
Typically you pay for the content a game holds, so you need to pay for DLC.
but Sonic Team is just like: nah this is for the fans.
The team is fire! That's why I love the games, both good and bad.
they've always cared, its just sometimes they cant deliver due to bad direction, inexperienced level designers or soemthing else

@@MaherandIbrahimsAvengers what’s sad is that when games used to get updates you would need to buy a new disc. Now with modern technology you can update the game you already have. But instead of everyone improving and adding things like SEGA does, many companies take advantage of this to release unfinished products and patch fun exploits for modders

Just amazing. What a welcome surprise. I'm so happy with the game. I've been a Sonic Fan since the original but this is probably the best Sonic game ever. I just wish the ending was a little longer and more challenging to a fully upgraded Sonic. Looking forward to running around Starfall Islands again soon to check out the new content. Keep up the great work Sonic Team.

The DLC is better than expected (I especially loved finding the notes in the open zone areas), but Photo Mode is pretty lackluster and definitely needs additional updates like poses, more filters etc.
I agree on the more filters thing, but the poses are kinda unnecessary since sonic can already do mid air tricks
I always thought the Fast Facts voiceover guy would make a good VA for Sonic
It’s honestly amazing to see a dev team actually listen to player feedback and update accordingly. It’s so rare these days…
Sonic Team is pretty reliable in that regard, they've really been attentive to the franchise nowadays, being kind to your loyal playerbase pays off I suppose lol

I don't know why you guys didn't give more highlight the QoL changes in the original announcements! These are some good changes! Being able to toggle the power boost cutscene is something I specifically asked for, so that's a really welcome feature. Very nice.
when I saw that I was thinking "finally, the pace is perfect once again"
I usually only saw the power boost maybe twice a playthrough cause the inner cd for the animation is so long was it really that hated a feature?

Sonic the Hedgehog came out the year I was born I don’t know watching this brings such a feeling of nostalgia that I legit almost become teary eyed, but I’m not complaining. Most of the Generations rendition tracks are massive downgrades.

This is such a good update! All of us content creators are so blessed to have this photo mode! This update was also so fun with all the good songs in it and also the cyber space and boss rush challenges and it was so fun. Thank so much for this update! Can't wait the 2nd and 3rd update! :)
