Zycols Barely, but yeah. I kinda just remembered some of these earlier today... or... yesterday technically, and have been going through an relistening to everything. Except Death of a Dream because if it’s how I remember it, I’d probably just start crying, or at least be closer to than I’d like to atm. I’m already a bit fucked up from the nostalgia as it is.
Also had a random idea about a post apocalyptic fantasy setting where basically the world used to be an idyllic, natural haven of pure life before it was destroyed by a fire death monster reducing it to a toxic ashland filled with nightmares and corrupted entities, and the only remnants of the old life were ejected into the sky where they float far above the threshold, and humanity (or a variant of it) has progressed to a steam punk sorta status with airships and whatnot, except for the guns. The guns are very modern because I feel like the story I have in mind blends well with some FPS style gun fu.
Well, maybe I’ll compromise and have them be WWII-ish in design since things like holographic sights might be a tad on the nose with the first person shooter inspiration, but ya get my drift.
But yeah, fantasy, floating islands, air ships, guns, limited magic, and nightmarish death realm. Now throw in a cast of goofs with dark sides, and edge lords with awkward funny sides, each with specialty based on their personality and background, one of them is... well... as bad ass and mute as a 90s/early 2000s FPS protag and holy shit is there lore as to why... but she barely knows why and can’t explain on account of being mute and barely understanding that spoken language, and is basically illiterate to its written form.
But who needs to be able to read when you’re the baddest bitch on this side of the island field that’s actually the anarchic remnants of a literally broken continental empire.
Ugh... why do I do this? I got too many idle ideas already. But hey, I think I could have a clean run of an overarching story. And if nothing else, I tend to be pretty good at coming up with ways to hype people up before ripping their hearts out, boiling them in their tears, and devouring them for the life sustaining eldritch energy many authors and content creators use to satisfy the pact they make with the old demon poets and abyssal scribes.
I’ll keep the idea tabbed if nothing else, and well just have to wait and see what all I have in order come January.
