Today I take a 1st Look at my new Quickhatch! After having gone to a AK Build Day with Rifle Dynamics, I finally get it in hand...
The Rifle Dynamics build days are awesome. You get to literally build your AK, in this case a Quickhatch. Basically an awesome 9" 7.62x39 pistol. But after you build it and test fire it, there is a lot more work that goes into it. They end up sand blasting the guns, painting them, reassembling and then QC and test fire again. So I've been waiting, but it was definitely worth the wait...
Titus, one of the gunsmiths at Rifle Dynamics, also happens to be an amazing artist. He paints a bunch of their guns as well. He had asked me what I wanted for my gun and I told him some sort of WWII Frogskin pattern, which I personally love, in part due to my Marine Corps heritage. Well, he knocked it out of the park.
And due to me not checking to see if the muzzle device was Rocksett, I had to opportunity to try a new muzzle device! Hahaha, my bad. But I did throw on a Rearden MFG Flash Hider to mate up with my Q LLC Thunder Chicken Silencer. Oh, and how about that Fix Stock?
I also got to put hands on the Micro Fight Chassis Mk5 from Spiritus Systems as well. A streamlined version of their Micro Fight Chest Rig which allows for the most flexibility yet. Looking forward to putting in more time with all of it and eventually bringing you guys full reviews...

Can you do a vid on your ultimate loadout consisting week of supplies side arm, main rifle, 50 Cal sniper rifle in bag to take out big objects, thermal , drone , night vision what would your ultimate loadout out be?

I bought a quick hatch a couple of weeks ago. I'm waiting for it to arrive. Pricey..but I'm stoked.
I still can't believe we allow them to tell us we have to have a fuggin license to unscrew a 'brace' and put on a stock and that it magically transformed that from a 'pistol' into a 'rifle'. My God we are wimps. I'll leave it at that for now. Great video, thanks for sharing.

I was in their May build class and Titus was telling me about painting this one! He said he was stoked with how the blue turned out on it. Looks sweet man!
I’m having him do a custom Modern Warfare 2 red tiger paint job on mine (high school nostalgia) and I’m beyond stoked to see how it turns out! Should hopefully only be another couple of weeks.

I'm sure you're aware of KNS Adj. Pistons. I use them on a couple of my guns, they work as advertised.
When you find the "sweet spot", open them 3 or 4 more clicks. This prevents the occasional and unavoidable short stroke/failure to eject that is common with ComBloc ammo.

Kit Badger, check out the ambi safety from Krebs. I’m a lefty too and don’t have an AK without it!
I suggest connecting your stock at the highest possible point to minimize recoil too.

The Kreb’s Mk7 safety is a definite quality of life improvement for lefties. It’s much quicker to first shots.

Pretty sick man, love the frog skin camo! The blue isn't very practical but it goes well with it in a way i guess haha. Enjoy it dude! Love the content u provide and keep grinding!!!
Quick AK tip: put the AK magazines in your placard bullet side up. You won't need to work around the AK magazine locking lugs, and grabbing higher on an AK magazine makes it easier to reload.
Also steel mags tend to rock in much smoother than Pmags.
Will that paint job hold up to the friction of the safety selector switch?

Beautiful 🤩 can tell you new to ak platform but noticed confidence rising… but the don’t you need 🎨 mags n vert grip to make it over the top 🔝.. very nice 👍

That is one beautiful bang stick. Kinda bummed I missed out on the Stoner Rifle Grip run, will be keeping an eye out for the next run.
One thing that will likely help with your reloads is using steel mags they rock in much smoother. Polymer mags tend to need an extra tug to seat.
what stands/steels do you have badger?
Does it get hot with that hand guard ?
That paint job is sick, I love how he added the badger into it.
Something tells me the craftsmanship and finish are A LOT nicer than the crap they sent me. NEVER buy Rifle Dynamics unless you're a you tube influencer who works directly with a company because they won't give a damn about you!

@@Nylonscheme Bought a new Thunder Ranch version and where the barrel pin goes, that section of the trunion looks like a blind guy did a bad dremel job on the metal. The paint started coming off in small places almost immediately with the slightest touch to any other hard surface. That paint should have some protection. Rust started showing up near rivets within a month of receiving it. When I emailed them with my concerns they brushed me off and basically said oh well, here's how to clean the rust and we're not here to make your $2000 rifle look pretty, you get a parts kit exactly how it comes too bad if you don't like it. THEY ARE A RIP OFF! This new quick hatch is a $3000 rip off. What guts they have to charge that much for an AK!
@@Nylonscheme Not to mention I tried to mount an attero arms optic mount to replace the rear sight and the mount sits crooked on top of and in the front trunion meaning it isn't parallel with the dust cover or, obviously, the actual rifle which means i can't trust an optic, good thing i got the ultimak rail for a dot...
I disagree. I have a quick hatch and it’s built awesome. The only issue I had is with my sandman and point of impact when mounted. They actually called me off an email I sent to address the problem, which ultimately was suppressor related. Don’t let one disgruntled maybe owner sway you from getting one. Every high end gun maker will have their occasional issues, but it’s how they make it right that counts
Lets put it this way... I don't like the blue and it is STILL a gd gorgeous rifle. Bravo.

Tried that trigger, didn't like it, went an purchased an ALG like I did for my other AKs and Galil Ace. Looks cool, colored to match the gun.
What trigger is in there I've never seen a n AK trigger in that profile

Sweet little AK. Is the slab side mag a polymer Bulgarian mag? If so, how does it run? I cannot find alot of info on them
They are good to go, really any bulgy mags are fantastic.
The ones with steel lugs and lips are way better. We bought some for a contract back in the day. But for the most part these all polymer ISD Bulgarian mags are decent. Nothing like circle 10 tho.

When conducting your reload, leave the platform horizontal, or even muzzle down, your empty mag will drop free. If you use the muzzle up technique, your mags will never drop out.
