Reggie Theus was a star. He wasn't a superstar but he was a big time player and this is supposed to be about benchwarmers. I'm sure sometime at the end of his career he might have warmed the bench but Reggie Theus was a really good basketball player.

Morey is still useful to a team so he has a job. Kanter is not useful to a team so he does not.

I played in a pickup League outside of Houston way back in the 80s and somehow had to guard labradford Smith. I am 6 ft tall exactly and was really only on the court because I could shoot well from outside. Most of the time I wasn't even on the court. I never stopped the guy once. I don't think he ever missed. You can't understand the difference in the skill level between a guy who's starting on his local high school team to a guy that's going to go to the NBA.. I think he played at Louisville. I could look it up but I'm old and lazy now.
