    The letter writer wasn't a "highly educated person?" _She_ was/is an idiot! 😆
    Also, that "document examiner," I believe, wasn't worth listening to. To say that she was "100% sure" of who the letter writer was, showed her ignorance, and arrogance. Handwriting analysis isn't an "exact science." Any more than "Criminal Profiling" is an exact science.
    Personally, from just what was presented here, I'd say it was the ex-wife. She "supposedly" saw, and had in her custody, some of the letters, but she didn't save them to show the police? She hated Paul enough to turn his own children against him. She had access to the gun and would have definitely known of any 'quirks' in Paul's handwriting in order to help in setting him up. Also, as the FBI Profiler mentioned, it was very telling that the writer made it a point, numerous times, to point out that she/he was (supposedly) male. When trying to remain anonymous, your biological sex is something that you wouldn't disclose.
    What should have been done is, set Karen Sue down and have her write a letter. Dictate it so it contained many (or all) of the words that were misspelled in the hundreds of letters. Words like "elemination, bullit, lonily," for example.
    Now, having said all that, wouldn't it be cool if the letter writer was Erin Moriarty? 😆 The letters were postmarked in Columbus, Ohio, where Erin grew up and was living when the letter writing began. Erin, we're going to need a handwriting sample. 😆

    • @eraldadevole
      @eraldadevole 10 часов назад +15

      I have only one question about it(Erin aside)
      If it was the ex wife, why continue send letters after he went in prison and she got what she wanted? It could have been a big mistake risking to overturn his sentence and keep the investigation going…

    • @avelakhoza6140
      @avelakhoza6140 10 часов назад +9

      @@eraldadevole Because she wasn't a "clever" person. This whole story is confusing, how could an isolated person be able to send letters? You can't just make a friend guard that will dance to your sick tune all the time, this case is hella confusing

    • @krissykriss328
      @krissykriss328 9 часов назад +5

      I believe her, and his dang FINGERPRINTS were on the letters! He may have been isolated but he found someone to mail the letters for him. Maybe another inmate ( criminal ) is not too far fetched of a theory. I think some people are overthinking the whole thing when the evidence is right there in front of us. Handwriting characteristics and fingerprints don't lie just like dna doesn't lie!

    The number 3 thing bugs me too! On an unrelated and known sample of Paul's writing, he adds a decretive loop and swirl. Then on one of the mystery letters, the number 3 looks like someone was trying to copy it. I don't agree that it looks like he's not sure if wants to write a number 2 or a 3.
    And the uppercase G. I know many people who write it to look like that. I don't agree that it's 'very unusual ', I don't think Erin believed it either.

I think the obsession with other people's lives and all of the details that the writer had were from a female. I worked with someone like that (not in Ohio.) She was a teacher who was overly religious and thought that she needed to interfere with the lives of everyone else. She would leave letters in the mailboxes of other teachers criticizing things they were doing that she thought were wrong. Men, generally, could not care less what others were doing.

    Dude was absolutely guilty. It would be so easy for him to slip a letters visitors or bribe a to have them mailed. His handwriting and fingerprints were on the letters.

  • @CorreneTucciarone
    @CorreneTucciarone 5 часов назад

    Another thing, if Paul wrote the letters from jail, then his fingerprints would have been on all of them. It's more likely that the papers came from the home that he used to share with someone and his prints only ended up sporadically on some.

      @ trust me. It’s her.. she was the very first “victim” so nobody would suspect her. Plus, she gets to play the victim.

      Agree. Smokescreen created by Mary. The trap, the gun - all conveniently found by her. She staged it. Motive - what happened after her hubby died? That which was supposed to be a rumour became true.

    I feel like a lot was not covered that should have been in this episode. There were a lot of holes in the story where this was barely comprehensible. Just from looking at the various letters, though I'm no trained expert, it seems like the letters were written by more than one person and they were taking great lengths to disguise their writing by using the block letter style. Either they were not very educated or that was another misdirect like mentioning they had a girlfriend could have been. Words were misspelled, punctuation omitted. I think the son definitely had some part in it though I can't say how. The writing didn't appear consistent throughout the letters but instead had two or three styles of writing. The letters were also varied by being written on plain paper or lined paper at times. Paul's fingerprints being on the paper could have been as simple as him replacing printer paper and that paper being used by a coworker to write one of the letters.
    I also don't buy that he could have sent these from jail. Everything is monitored especially phone calls and mail, both incoming and outgoing. They would have been able to intercept the letters before they were actually sent out.

    I think it was the ex-wife. Women think in a different way; she tried to look uneducated on purpose; the suspect sounds like an emotional unestable and controlling person, I think the state of mind of the ex at that time, especially after everything she lost. She may have also manipulated the son to help her with her plan. Guilt is what made the son avoid seing his father face to face and ultimately end his life.
