Thanks for actually tying this fly correctly! I’m sure your addition of the super glue adds durability and as a 60 year old man with bad eyesight I appreciate the addition of the hot spot. Great job.
Thanks Kevin! I appreciate your comment. I know the first time around I didnt do it exact. And I appreciate you reaching out then to let me know what to do. Thank you for the tips and help.
Great fly Kevin! It’s my favorite by far..and lots of others agree. If I see someone flyfishing and they say nothings biting, I give them a couple of these and usually in a few moments their success changes. Have a good one! 👍👍🎣
Hello again. Really nice bug. I’ve been tying them in a bunch of colors and they really work well in NJ for bass, sunfish, pickerel, etc. Thanks, keep the videos coming and be well.
Guess I had been basically making these all along, or something very similar anyway. I use just a colored poly yarn wing so i can see it, but been doing them in yellow sally, small hoppers, and down to size 16 stuff. Great for small streaming dry dropper with the big poly yarn making it basically a new zealand strike indicator with a hook, lol! Definitely a great bug for Colorado trout!
Very cool. There are a few similar bugs like this one. I used to tie something very similar as well for Colorado. However it was slightly different. I mean there really is nothing new under the sun. Every fly can be a version of another. Material changes, one little difference on how its tied, etc. All these can change the way a fly is fished and its action. But no question I dont doubt that a pattern very similar (if not even exactly the same) to this has been very popular up and around Colorado for you. Like I said, when I was fishing Colorado a lot I had a pattern I fished that was really similar as well and it was a fish catcher.
Thank you very much Ben! I dont speak or read that language, I honestly cant even tell which one it is. HAHA. So sorry if im not responding in relation to what you commented, but I do appreciate the $30, that is very kind of you!
Great instructions McFly..You even got approval from Kevin! I tie them small (#12,without wing) for panfish and have some 100 fish outings with small bass mixed in on a single fly, but it’s mangled.😂 I’ve caught Lots of bigger bass on #6/4 ones. About my favorite fly for Texas Hill country. Hard to use something else when I Know this will work so good.🙂 Have a small yellow on 3wt and Big Tan one on 5wt right now ready to go! Thanks McFly and Kevin. 👍👍🎣
Thanks Charlie! Yeah pretty cool he was able to jump on and comment. Thank you for the comment as well and good luck out there! The rivers are low right now as we haven't had much water. One of the rivers I fish was completely dried up. We need rain!
@@McFlyAngler Yes my favorite local river the Pedernales is just some puddles now, very sad. There is a local creek that must be spring fed because it still (barely) has moving water. Praying for lots of rain soon! Have a good one. God bless!
Depends of course on how much you use per fly or how often you tie. If your just using the ultra thin brush on stuff to just cement heads, it will cement 100’s if not 1000’s of heads. I tie probably 2000-5000 flies a year. And I go through a bottle once every 1.5-2 years and I use it for more than just cementing heads. If your using the other resins for like heavy resin flies (surf candies and the like) then the really small starter bottles won’t last too long, but the 2oz and 4oz still should last a very long time.
Thank you, so for colors it really depends on conditions. I’ve caught bass on any number of color combos. All black, tan and brown, pink, chartreuse, white and black, olive, yellow, list goes on and on.
I prefer not to use a lot of superglue, it makes very hard the dubbing or malformations in foam... In Spain we use a lot this fly for catch carp and barbel.
Awesome! I didn’t know a local pattern would become popular all the way over there! That’s awesome! And yeah you don’t have to use super glue if you don’t want, I do because I like a fly to be super durable when fishing sunfish and bass. But for trout yeah it’s not as important. These sunfish will destroy a fly quickly. Like little piranha! Haha!
I had the chance to learn from the creator of this fly Kevin hutchisson and you tied this absolute perfectly I love to see it
Thank you. Yea Kevin has coached me as well on how to tie these. Took quite a few tries on video for him to say it is good enough. Thank you.

Looks like a winner and I will definitely run to my bench and tie some up. Thx
Thanks, yeah its a pretty good pattern for sure, seems to work well for me.

I've tied these for a few.
I use them up here in the north midwest with rather good success for about anything thatll bite it.
Good pattern right?

Glad you enjoyed the video, thank you for the comment. I appreciate you
How long does one bottle of solarez last? I wanna get a bottle but I’m worried about how long it should last.

It should work good on bluegills 💯💯💯💯👍🏽
Yeah it’s a good one for sure! Thanks
👍👍👏👏
Don't stress out about tiny mistakes, fish aren't gonna notice it one bit till the hook's in their mouth 😈
For sure, I agree. However we don’t only tie just for the fish. Confidence in what you fish is a big thing.
