I think the reason people are struggling with AoS is because there is almost no animated or live action representation available for free on RUclips. There need to be fan-projects for this setting.
Exactly!! We need a humanizing vignette for them. Maybe show a Stormcast having memory flashes and maybe a mental breakdown from Reforging, and then has to pull himself together to save mortals from danger.
I love the Stormcast. Seeing the lore and the minis evolve over the years has been a trip. The idea of God snatching me up at the brink of death and then hammering me into a hulking angelic Sigmarine is what I'd want irl, tbh. And I'd definitely need a gryph-hound sidekick.
My #1 go to for Stormcast lore and info! I don’t play, just collect and paint. Ive never been into Warhammer or any board games but got into AOS in January of this year. I’m 25 short of completing the entire collection, well over 200 models, old figures and new, minus terrain. A few months ago I got into the lore through you and went crazy with all of the credits I had on audible 😂. I’ve listened to Dominion, Yndrasta and have just started Soul Wars. You definitely keep the fire going my friend, I thank you for doing this!
I’m currently reading the book Skaventide and it’s nice to see the stormcast perspective. It’s more human and tragic than I thought in this book. I’ve read a lot more of 40k books and most of the time the most interesting space marines characters are on the chaos side imo so I really expected the stormcast to be blend and so far I like the characters.
Stormcast are my favorite army, built during third focused on the thunderstrike. It is not good but it shines bright on the table with all that gold paint and gloss varnish!
I"m a Stormcast main. Can't help but love the different units and how they are the pinnacle of Order. Sure there is dangers of them losing themselves but without them than Chaos would be doing far worse to the mortal Realms.
Far worse? Without the Stormcasts Order wouldn’t even have a foothold in the Realms anymore! Much less how their undying sacrifice on every cosmic front is the only reason the forces of Order have enough breathing room to rebuild their lost empires. ⚡️ Also just the incredible damage they did to Chaos to stunt it’s advanced between nearly driving the surprised Skaven extinct by decimating them in their billions and were able to close off most of the Eight-Points major Realmgates.

A Tempest of lore approaches from one of finest Realm-walkers! 🎉 To add some things to what you went over: On blood & organs as the Stormcast are reforged they can get slowly replaced by Azyr magic causing Stormcasts to bleed Lightning & having ethereal starlight innards instead. Examples are a band that followed Neave testing this with fresh recruits having blood from their cuts while the veterans has sparks come out of their slices until the wound closed. And Bastian has a massive electrical hole in his chest that never closes due to it being a wound by Archaon’s Kingslayer.
And, what you’ll probably explain in the future for Ruination but I’ll say anyway because i love their lore, is what happens after a final reforge Stormcast is executed before they become a automaton. As they meet oblivion their soul energy is first used in these Azyr leylines called Star Bridges that link Heavens to the other Realms, the Stormcast use these “bridges” to quickly travel from Azyr downward which can allow them to be put back into action faster, some dying at a siege only to reforge and zap back to the very same battle they died in. The new Portal terrain they got channels this very energy as the Star Bridges are tied to the Stormkeeps so they made a smaller version to use them. I like the poetry of it that as heroes they lived building bridges between races & the gods to heal the Realms and at oblivion’s door they make one final bridge to further protect the realms.
And last fun fact, the Reforge process was inspired by the Dracoths & Stardrakes who do it more naturally(but slowly as it’s like being made into a storm egg & hatching time grow into your full self again) as they reincarnate in Azyr after death. Sigmar & Grungni just refined and weaponized the process so their immortal legions could come back faster(but now we see the cost of mass producing the effect and putting mortal minds into the bodies of angel constructs) Very excited for this series and the rest of the edition. Absolutely LOVE that the new Battletome also has a hero creation tool for Narrative play that let’s you start from a reforged undead or redeemed chaos character origins too!
One of my favorite things about being a fan of AoS over the years and reading all the lore is that the story continues. The Ruination chamber wouldn't have felt anywhere near as tragic if it existed from the get go. The fact that we got to see Stormcasts think they didn't have much consequences is so crazy now looking back. We get to see the Army literally Mature as they are thrown through the Crucible of war. Now 9 years in and we are officially at the point where some of the first forged are dying off for good due to our own hands. That's insane and its better because of the 9 year build up. I look forward to seeing what happens from this point on too. Forward for Sigmar!
I started AoS near the end of 2nd and learning about the Anvils of Heldenheimer. I had a 2k point army built along that theme and now every single one of them is obsolete and removed come June 2025. I decided that I am going to trying and kit bash what I can into some of the newer stuff if I can, but the rest will become Chaos. What makes this worse is that I started collecting the Stormbringer "magazines" almost a year ago, and there are going to be a handful of models that I haven't received yet that will be useless by the time I get them (such as the Iron Jawz) and many others that are now "legends" (Xandrie, Grundstock, etc).
We didn't really get anything that happened in third edition because of Covid. It was a version of the game that released on schedule, but it kind of felt like it couldn't do much until the final year of third edition when people really started going out again, and GW could resume operations as normal. At least, that's what I think, but it's also just possible third edition was "okay time for a new edition, what's the narrative? Uhhhhhh" and that was the entire conversation.
I want to know how the celestial warbringers are handling things as they viewed it differently. And if i recall right where suffing from the flaw better then most.
I feel they are too modeled like Space Marines (not really a new take). It s hard to ignore the simularities. But to each its own! I found my army with Cities of Sigmar (and hopefully Malerian will come soon to the setting). And you also have Warhammer the Old World, so there is more then enough fantasy to choose from these days 😊😊 Btw I love this channel❤ The only channel that provides me with good AOS content. Thanks for all the great lore video s.

I’m currently reading the book Skaventide and it’s nice to see the stormcast perspective. It’s more human and tragic than I thought in this book. New to your channel and just starting AoS and am collecting stormcast. (specifically hallowed knights) any book recommendations you enjoyed?
