To be clear I am not against people who listen to this music, but we should be able to talk about it. Its hard to believe that Hibbs actually seems to be saying you are the one who is sinful if you are warning people about these hyper charismatic music artists. His argument "Ignorance is bliss" is not a Christian concept. Jack Hibbs who has praised hyper charismatic Joni Lamb (ruclips.net/video/NUsXH_pidW0/видео.html) actually seems to be running interference for these groups! Why? This is the problem, it seems as though, once a pastor decides to yoke with Daystar or TBN, they end up compromising not only on stuff like this but they also end up defending and praising the false teachers who helped make them famous, not only did Hibbs praise Joni Lamb even David Jeremiah praised Paul Crouch, helping him raise money for TBN - ruclips.net/video/264sHpjlK14/видео.html Please understand, I am not angry at Hibbs or Jeremiah, I am trying to demonstrate why (I believe) this is not wise. To bring the fix you first must diagnose the problem. Hopefully once people recognize the issue we can work together to fix it, they hyper charismatic is polluting American Evangelical Christianity and millions are not only being led into error, the poor, sick and the elderly are being taken advantage of by greedy false teachers. However when I reached out to these ministries (Jack Hibbs for example) just responded and said they are going to keep doing what they are doing. I firmly believe people should mark and avoid Joni Lamb, the Crouch family, TBN, Daystar, Benny Hinn, Steven Furtick, Bill Johnson etc based on Romans 16:17-18 where Paul writes "Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple." Hibbs not only refuses to speak against these hyper charismatics causing division, he goes a step further and says YOU are the one being divisive for warning people! That is the opposite of what Paul taught in Romans 16. These televangelists totally ignore the Biblical doctrine of separation and when the famous guys do it, this bad practice trickles down into the local churches. If you think I'm wrong tell me why.
For me it's not only Bethel, hillsong or elevation but also other Christian song writers or singers who are independent. Their lifestyle don't reflect or promote christ centeredness or biblical values.
@@lollysummers4539 absolutely, I also did a video on Soulfest, how many of the singers do not belong to a church, they support "gay marriage' they are universalists, they have gone through deconstruction etc etc
Pastor Grant, this video has helped me tremendously, questioning myself if I’m just being petty or if it’s really an important issue. I think it’s an important issue and I think it’s really sad. Thank you for all your videos - you are always right on - from my vantage point. God bless you❤
I love Jack, but i totally agree and when i saw this clip months ago, I was like WHAT THE HECK IS HE SAYING! He is biblical sound in many many areas so I'm not writing the guy off but 100 percent he is not right on this topic!
Not all of them! Some of those old hymns are written by people whose theology was also skewed. For example, Harry Emerson Fosdick, composer of "God of Grace and God of Glory," believed science took precedence over Scripture and in a sermon declared the Bible was not the literal word of God, therefore should be subject to man's interpretation. Horatio Spafford, composer of "It Is Well with My Soul," believed there's no such thing as eternal judgment and that even Satan could be saved, and that "Judas, Antichrist, Beelzebub and all his host, as well as 'the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars' shall NOT 'have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone' (Rev. 21:8; cf. 22:15). Instead, they shall enter the joy of the everlasting kingdom in the new heavens and the new earth!" And "Savior, Like a Shepherd Lead Us" seems to me to be quite misleading -- I mean, doesn't Jesus promise He's the Good Shepherd, and doesn't a good shepherd always lead his sheep? So why don't we believe Him? Why do we have to ask Him over and over to do what He's already promised to do? Would you want your children doing that to you?! And I could go on. The difference between them and today's, shall we say, misled and misleading, is that they are no longer alive, so we tend to exalt them (like the Catholic Church does its saints) and take their words at face value since they are no longer benefiting from their work.
Isn't it true that Bethel, Hillsong, and others receive royalties when this music is played? In that case, playing their music is sort of like supporting them directly.
No, it’s not true. All churches (at least the are supposed to) pay a set fee to a copyright entity that gives you permission to play any song by any writer.
But that "entity" (CCLI) is merely collecting those monies and distributing them to the copyright holders. So, emphatically Yes!, Bethel and ilk are raking in million$$$ every year -- not to mention the souls which are led astray (i.e., fed to the wolves) because they hear one of these songs in their otherwise Biblical church service. Our churches have MUCH to answer for, and "mill stone around the neck" frequently comes to mind.@@TheTruthAboutGodBarryStagnerr zbut
If folks want to know more, there's a book by Holly Pivec and R Douglas Geivett called Counterfeit Kingdom that goes into the dangers of NAR. Also, people like Justin Peters, Spencer Smith, and those at G3 have videos on this topic.
I am really wishing some songs are removed from church services. "Holy Spirit you are welcome here, come flood this place and fill the atmosphere . . ." SAY WHAT? If Holy Spirit is in the heart of every believer, Holy Spirit is already there. No need to sing/pray to come! And it begs the question . . . When does Holy Spirit leave? At end of service? At the exit door? Edge of parking lot to church property? Think about it . . .!
I unfortunately went to a church you described for many years. I left for good once I realized that the uneasy feeling I had was correct. I felt spiritually starved.
I was part of the praise and worship team at a church I used to attend. When decided to not sing certain songs, I explained why. I was told I think too much. I stepped down..
I used to play at a very conservative reformed church, and when they started introducing Hillsong music, I said I wouldn't play it, and I stepped down. They didn't care.
agree. saidly our local calvary chapel gives same response as Jack Hibbs..."I dont know anything, dont want to know anytbing about the misuse of "worship from Bethel and Hillsong". once we knew what Bill Johnson was teaching, we couldnt/wouldnt sing those songs.
When my church played worship songs by Bethel, the ones that were shallow, repetitive, with no scripture, I was not edified. Instead, I left church almost in a trance, which left me numb and tuned out for about 20 hours. The songs, to me, sound more like an Eastern Mantra. Mindless repetition. Pastor Chuck Smith's church and Maranatha Music released hundreds of songs in the 1970' thru 2000 that helped me memorize scripture and left me encouraged and built up. What Bethel and others have done is to exalt feelings. Bethel seems to be feelings focused. And all about creating fake signs and wonders to appear to be God's church. But, casting away the Word of God, thus casting away Jesus, who is the Word made flesh. The leaders will be held accountable in eternity. Anyone attending Bethel needs to look for a church that honors God's Word.
Totally agree with you! This is coming from a Hibbs follower for 9 years. I began noticing a change is his demeanor and delivery in his sermons since he has gotten more well known and in the line of fire from critics. He is sarcastic and likes to “got cha “ at his critic from the pulpit. Hate to think it but have felt an uneasiness in my spirit for a few months now.
I was blocked from the chat this past Sunday because I graciously mentioned that they should stop paying to be on Daystar, because by remaining on that platform they were complicit in the evil goings on. There is a growing spirit of pride coming from this platform.. it is so sad to see one ministry after another slowly slipping away.
That's certainly what it looks like. We really have to stop listening to and supporting anyone in big ministry. They all know what's really going on. Read the bible asking God for understanding.
In that case , listen to Gsry Hamrick . He has a huge church and teaches straight from the bible . We have been listening to him close on a year now. We love hus Uncomprimised teachings !!
Jack Hibbs dear, don’t even get me started! Just because the words they use in their songs sound they are honoring God it does not mean they are worshiping God. Even Satan had the nerve to quote scriptures from the Bible to try to to cosy up to Jesus and tried to tempt Him.Last time I read the word of God I do not remember Jesus being amused by his craftiness but He rebuked him instead! Dear Jack , How about the scripture “ You will know them by their fruit” Not by their songs! Oh by the way, have you checked their doctrines too? Just saying! “Tell me who your friends are and I will tell you who you are”
Oh my gosh, perfect timing! Sadly I attended a new church yesterday that played Phil Wickham’s music, who has association with Bethal. I’m so disappointed. I can’t go back there, I can’t use that music to worship the Lord. All day after church yesterday I kept thinking how people especially Pastors can not know about this!!
Take no part in the darkness. If you support it … what are you doing? Cherry picking Jack. Nope. I used to listen to Jack all the time. He’s been strong against government. He needs to say something and step away from daystar too.
Yes! Jack Hibbs must leave Daystar. What about fleeing the very appearance of evil? Also, beware of repeating lyrical phrases over and over; close to chanting.
What do u mean about" strong against government". Just curious because hibbs is all up in politics? There's many red flags, but one that has caused me to stop listening to him, was his stance on voting and voting for Mr "T"....he literally has said, that if u don't vote or vote mr " t" u will get a spanking at the Bema Seat from the Lord???!!!!...and he's continually doubled down on that on many occasions on his RUclips "shorts" videos....plus he has Charlie kirk as a guest, who I think is a NAR, but I'm not for sure on that one....but I'm done following his ministry...just too many red flags....I've listened to him over the last 10 years and do not understand how these pastors seem to change....the only thing I can come up with is money and fame....it's such a shame, but God
@@Judithestears This is the written response from Jack when asked why he hasn't left DS yet after the DS SA cover news broke last November. He said he'll share the gospel in any network, even a godless TV network. This was his response to this youtube channel, to Pastor Michael Grant.
I am a nobody...when I had a Facebook account, I was very careful to not post quotes unless I examined the author of said quote. I didn't want to promote anyone that I didn't respect. There are many quotes that were good...yet, when I examined the author of said quote I abandoned the quote immediately. I would expect a pastor to do this and also to encourage their congregation to do this as well. I really wish there would be a return to hymns and singing scripture.
Even then, it's still based on what is known about that person's reputation at the time. The very next day that person could fall or have something revealed. I've supported and followed people's Bible Studies and didn't agree with parts of their teaching. Later I would remove some pages. And in some cases, I would throw away entire workbooks that I completed when that person was revealed to have fallen . . . And not even repentant, they just got caught.
I'm at 2:50 and I stopped to "leave a negative comment before I hear you out". Not towards you because I completely agree with you thoughts. I attended another CC church for 20 years and attended CCCH several times. I can say as a first hand witness, that I can think of at least a half dozen instances where Jack has several "flags on the field". One particular caused great division between my wife (at the time) and me. It was a weekend marriage conference that cost $480 . 2 hours on Friday night, 6 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. After Fridays session my wife asked me what I thought. I had a page of notes of all the red flags the guest speaker spewed. She scolded me severely for pointing them out. She got upset and we did not finish the rest . They have a corporate model and they market God to the flock .
Good for you for standing up for what you believe is right and true. Unfortunately many pastors will automatically side with the woman, just another red flag to be on guard against.
Thank you for opening my eyes. I always just listened to Jack Hibbs’ message online and always just skipped the music. I didn’t even know he was involved with Daystar
It’s hard to hear and see this about Pastor Hibbs. I’ve learned so much through his ministry but I agree, being part of Daystar is terrible. It doesn’t take away from his doctrine of the gospel but he sure overlooks scripture telling us to distance ourselves from the false teachers or you will be just as guilty supporting them. I know he has said he would like to use any platform he can to reach people for Christ but that’s kinda like a police officer breaking the law to catch a crook. Thank you pastor Grant. You’re truly a blessing
Thing is, daystar proclaims to be Christian. By standing with them daystar, it likes approving of their baloney. Not a good look for the world to see. Youbtube doesn't profess to be Christian. It's also the place that needs to hear the Gospel.
this is a dangerous thought process for Hibbs and it trickles downward to other churches who follow Hibbs. This is a clip from earlier this year. We were going to a calvary chapel and it was an uphill battle telling our own church that listening to this music was wrong because 'big wigs" like Hibbs condoned it.
@@munao8453 What Hibbs apparently doesn’t understand is when music by Hillsong, Bethel & Elevation is played in church the said church pays these a fee to use the music which in turn is helping fund the false church which we are to mark & avoid! Hibbs is a pastor & should check out these things not cover his ears like a five year old!! Less politics Jack more discernment !
I just had this conversation with my daughter yesterday. I said pretty much what you’re saying. When approached from a Biblical POV, it’s obvious to me what the Scripture says 🙏🏻
You did the right thing! If they don't listen, I wouldn't condemn someone for liking this music, but for goodness sakes we should be allowed to warn them! I totally disagree with Hibbs on this but when he praises up Joni Lamb and partners with Daystar nobody should be surprised.
The music is a big part of how I got into the NAR. It’s the latter rain, and manifest son’s of God doctrine. It nearly shipwrecked my faith, and my husband’s faith. My sister was in deeper than I was. She is no longer a believer. She is completely woke now. I am still detangling from this, and the word of faith movement I was raised in.
I'm so sorry about your sister. Your experience is precisely why this deception in the church is so dangerous. Praying your family will find healing, peace, and joy in the Good Shepherd, Jesus.
Thank you for bringing this up about Jack Hibbs. I did not know that he put this video out and because of it I have unsubscribed to his channel. Justin Peters has a video about not playing their songs in the church. Let’s bring the hymns back cuz you can’t go wrong with those!
To me, the best way to describe much of the music being allowed in the American churches today is we are settling, when much better is available. Then pastors and other christians tell us it's a 'heart problem' with us. My response is, if it's a heart problem, why did we move away from solid Bible teaching music in the first place? Oh wait, it must have been a heart problem for those who wanted worldly music in church.
I have slowly gone off listening to Jack Hibbs and now won't bother at all. When it comes to this topic all you have to do is put five CCM lyric sheets next to five traditional hymn lyric sheets and compare them. It's like night and day for the most part. Have no fellowship with darkness. This includes the music.
I’m sorry but worship matters and anything that has to do with demonic teachings, witchcraft , false teachers and false gospel. Well we shouldn’t want to sing it. Ephesians 5:11 is very clear . And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. If we stick to hymns we won’t have an issue , if you have to look up a song to see if it’s ok to sing that’s where the problem is . Beautiful hymns always and forever they should be .
Another issue is that these churches have redefined certain words - such as prayer where they want folks declaring and decreeing.............. I am so disappointed with Jack. Thanks for your wise words.
It's a gut punch. Thought I'd found someone in Jack Hibbs I could trust for good teaching. He's all up in worldly politics but won't be truthful about church politics.
@ yea I was that way with Greg Laurie that Calvary Chapel also. These sorta celebrity preachers seem to be ok with Roman Catholicism and a lot of worldly things.
@@janmckay6591I hear ya. I found Jack during CVD days and it was so refreshing. Loved his teachings and would defend him to anyone. BUT when he started on the politics and basically saying Christians were sinning if they didn’t vote really opened my eyes. I haven’t listened to him since. So disappointed but God was telling my heart months before to stop listening to men and listen to Him. I have cut out sooo many pastors and prophecy teachers over this political issue. It has been so freeing and I hear the Lord more directly Who is so much more trustworthy.
Jesse Duplantis has just released a utube interview with his wife.. He was speaking to the rumours that he left Daystart..because of the situation.. Have a listen.. Duplantis and his wife said they didn't know at all....what was going down at Daystar..He said God told him to leave weeks ago....
Ugh, my church is so confusing! The pastor and elders do not allow this kind of music to be in our worship service, and the pastor preaches expository verse by verse, BUT as I have mentioned before they love The Gospel Coalition. Why would they see the obvious false teachings in Hillsong, etc., but not see it in those associated with TGC? We have talked to the elders, and they will be attending the conference this year. Ugh!
Im starting to see and hear red flags with Jack very sad because I felt he truly is trying to get people to read & know Gods word. Im not really sure why he would yoke with Daystar 😢
@@Judithestears Hibbs only started guesting on Daystar Sept of 2022, around the time when he was getting popular. I think he started buying airtime on Daystar early 2023. I wept when I found out that he bought airtime. He was the last pastor I thought would be on TBN or Daystar along with pastor John MacArthur. Daystar's fundraising scheme/scam is very unbiblical. Give $1K and God will bless you with $10K. A former DS employee said on an interview that when she was an employee said that she finally woke up about Daystar when she ended up taking in calls from donors. One elderly lady called and told her that she was broke but would like to donate $1K to get $10K back from God. The DS employee felt so bad in taking her credit card number. They were not allowed to discourage donors from donating. After this event, she decided to leave DS.
I am so disappointed in Jack Hibbs. I have for a long time skipped the "worship" portion of his church's service when I watch online, because I was very uncomfortable with the music. I had hoped he would "come around," but it sounds like he is digging his heels in instead. Very sad.
I always skip the worship. We left a church of God after 10 years they decided to go dark, cover the cross with a big screen, get a new sound system and blast it, then have streaming lights (flowers spinning like a 70s disco) of course they sang Hillsong and all the others because it hypnotized the bride, it was a concert and more time was given to the songs than the Word. When I mentioned it to the pastor he was offended. We finally just left.
I find it awfully sad that people care more about a song than they do about people being lead into false teaching. Do we not have Godly people who write praise songs that aren’t tied in with these horrible churches or that are not pushing Roman Catholicism?
I am aware of a number of churches that hire musicians based on musical ability-people who are not even true believers. Their witness and love for the Lord should be the number one criteria. We don't have a worship team. I personally think it often becomes a pride issue to "be on stage." Do we really need that? But people love it; it's so good for filling seats.
Yes, we do, actually. There are several God-honoring, theologically accurate ministries producing music which is Scripturally sound and worth both singing and listening to. Those groups include Sovereign Grace Music, City Alight Music, and Getty Music, or individuals such as Stephen Curtis Chapman, Fernando Ortega, Matthew Ward, Selah, Casting Crowns, and Stuart Townend. If you like it a little more rock, check out Matty Mullins. If you're more into the classical music style, check out Steve Green. Ignorance is bliss! He clearly doesn't think Bethel is preaching a false gospel, Hibbs is on Daystar and praises Joni Lamb, he is a charismatic who defends his fellow charismatics, same old story.
there will never be an answer to all these things until saved people rely only on Jesus. Do not rely on pastors and churches. Jesus made this very clear.
Sometimes my church plays that music and I have talked to leadership why they should not play it, but the worship team still wants to use it sometimes. I told them when they play their music that our church is supporting those churches false preaching. Nothing wrong with some of those songs, but we should not support those churches.
Bethel is literally on record saying they use music to manipulate people (that is w itch craft) and also that when you sing their songs you support their doctrine and come into agreement with it.
Couldn't agree more! Thank you for your stand! As mentioned in a previous video...I wish we had a church around us that stood tall and true to the gospel. I wrote Jack Hibbs asking him to consider leaving Daystar...he's not going to! Compromise! Is it about getting the gospel out? Or, is it to keep your name in the spotlight with the money coming in? Don't know the answer to this question...but, I will stand on, "Come out from amongst them and be ye separate...saith The Lord"......In today's society...that would be considered as judging! Come, Lord Jesus!
@@MyHome7_Carla I'm sure it wasn't Jack Hibbs who answered. In fact, it was worded like a form letter thanking me for reaching out to them, stating their goal was to get the gospel out by using any available platform.
@@MyHome7_Carla I stopped watching him. I gave him a couple of months to do his own research about the SA cover up in Daystar and the misuse of funds. I've unsubscribed from ALL his platforms. God doesn't need Daystar mafia to share the gospel with. Daystar claims to be a Christian ministry but the trust is that they're only posing as a ministry as told by former employees.
Anyone who claims to be a pastor/shepherd of a flock/congregation and is ok with paying Bethel or Hillsong for their music is not a good pastor. In doing that they are helping these Godless false teachers to continue their leading the church and the lost astray. You may not say it, but I will. Jack is a bad pastor if he doesn’t care if his church buys Bethel and Hillsong’s music. A good shepherd doesn’t lead his flock to wolves.
Thank you for saying it. Please come say it to the church I tried attending and was super dismayed to find singing bethel songs. Those people are being fed poison.
I agree with you pastor Michael. We should always bring our brothers and sisters to the light when we see something. wrong. That is loving them in Christ Jesus !
@@janmckay6591 That's what I was afraid of. "Do not be deceived: Evil company corrupts good habits" - I Cor. 15:33. I pray that he will pull up out of this nosedive before he crashes.
With shallow worship songs comes shallow preaching. I've noticed he tends to invite "Christian" professional athletes, notably NFL players in the last few years to his church. Not sure if he does this to draw people in or for clout. I find that troubling.
Money and fame bring power and power corrupts. When I saw Jack Hibbs praising Joni Lamb so that she could help him sell his new book...that is all I needed to see, but then someone else showed me this. Sad.
@@Pastor_Grantdid you see the video he put out about why he wouldn’t be cutting off his association with Daystar? I found it troubling. I’ve watched Jack for years, but feel he’s lacking discernment in recent months. His constant praise of Donnie and push to vote for him, was very disturbing and over the top. And I’ve not been fond of several of his guests and how he tends to put them on pedestals. My two cents worth….I noticed a change in him more specific, when he was asked to pray before the House and Senate. Pride comes before the fall. I am now praying for him everyday, as I do believe he’s a good teacher, who loves the Lord greatly. We all need to be guarded about how Satan can and does try to lead us astray. May we all pray for discernment!
I don’t listen to any of this music… as I can’t stand…this type of music! It’s not only the “me centered words”…and repetitive…over and over again choruses….but all the drums and loud… banging… pagan barroom LOUD….stuff…that to me just drives the Holy Spirit away! It’s sensual…and doesn’t enhance worship…it detracts and destroys it!
If you have a problem with music being loud - How do you reconcile that with the Holy, Glorious and Sacred Word? Psalm 100:1 Make a joyful noise to Yahweh all the earth.

I listened all the way through and there was no misunderstanding about what you have expressed. You presented your view on this very clearly and I believe you are spot on with everything you said. I have had experiences with the “hyper charismatic” churches…their doctrine is dangerous…it always centers around an experience and feelings which we know is not always based on Truth. Thank you for bringing this to light. I am currently in a Calvary Chapel Church because I like the verse by verse teaching. However, I am a follower of only ONE…His name is Jesus. I do not follow Chuck Smith, Jack Hibbs or any other name.
I agree with you. Evil communication corrupt good manners (morals) 1 Corinthians 15:33 Now I understand why I can’t and I don’t want to listen to contemporary gospel music. It does not resonate with my spirit..
This is the very reason why I don't listen to any music at all. When I did watch his sermons on YT, I'd wait till it was over, so I can skip the music. We're meant to be on be guarded, watch out for bad influences, and warn others.
Thank you for brining this to our attention. We are called to be sober-minded, I feel we can sometimes trust a pastor or church service to the point of not having a sober mind set while watching or listening. I have only listened on-line to some of his sermons and podcasts. This has challenged me to be even more aware!
So glad you brought this subject up. Thank you so much for these videos you make. I so appreciate your thoughtful and soberminded approach to the subjects discussed. Having a balance is important and you offer that as well. I saw an actual sermon by Jack Hibbs where he discussed this same subject, and it was similar to what he said in the Podcast. I disagreed with his "philosophy" about it, but it also didn't surprise me because when I clicked onto his sermons on RUclips I felt I needed to "fast forward" past the song service. This is before I really knew anything about him. I am definitely not saying that I think he isn't a Brother in Christ, I hope and pray that he genuinely is...but I am personally not comfortable with the music and many people he affiliates himself with, as well as some of the guests he has invited to speak at his church. A few times it seemed as if he didn't do his research well enough and "let a wolf into his henhouse". My husband and I are no longer "clicking" on Pastor Jack's videos, we began to feel "disturbed" about various things... but it was an interesting learning experience. I wish him the best and pray his discernment will improve regarding many things. He exudes so much excitement and joy for the Lord and being in His service to win souls to Christ... I hope the Lord will continue to do a work in his life to reveal and correct areas of error and being misguided. (although we could all use that too, me included! 😊)
huskerhut; You are wise to steer clear of him. Hibbs has a video on youtube where he says that is you come here to church and send everyone here into the afterlife ; you are still saved you just won't get any rewards in heaven.
I do have an issue with the teachings of Furtick and others like him. I can’t even listen to them. I also disagree with Hibbs on this. Iron sharpens iron. This is a slippery slope for believers and easy to water down and muddy THE truth. As believers, we are supposed to talk about these things. Like you said…prosperity and charismatic preachers are off base, most of the time. I also believe the music of Bethel and Hillsong is questionable. There are many things I would like the pastor of my small church to talk about more, but I’m thankful we have traditional music with hymnals. Melissa Dougherty here on YT is another Christian talking about these things. Thank you ✨
But he does know. I liked his sermons but always turned the music off. Now I've unsubbed because of the daystar issues. Heck even Jesse Duplantis left daystar. just saying. No I don't watch him but if someone like him is distancing themselves.
💯 percent agree with you, things need to be discussed, it’s not always gossip. It’s a discussion about what’s going on and to choose the Christian way….. we all fall, we all make mistake mistakes, but we need to discuss these things and enlighten one another on things that seem wrong…..
Great video Mike. Enjoy your biblically based council. Please don’t ever do anything different despite the criticism. It’s always better to please God rather than man.
After watching the teaching of NH Church, East Lansing for several years, my husband and I no longer watch, as they continue to use Hillsong music etc in their worship. It is compromise. It is flirting with the enemy. Their using Hillsong etc music is an endorsement. Who knows how many of their congregation, including on line congregation, are directed to these heretical churches as a result. Tried very lovingly and honestly bringing it to their attention via a comment on RUclips. They deleted my comment, without acknowledgement or response. We can't, in good conscience, continue to watch. So disappointed.
After watching the clip, my thought is that sadly this appears to be a symptom of celebrity pastor pride. When someone tries to keep them accountable, even out of love and respect, the response is kind of a ‘how dare you question me’ attitude that’s borderline gaslighty. I’ve seen it with Begg, Lindell, Stanley and here with Hibbs.
It sounds like to me Jack Hibbs is very confused when it comes to Christian Music and what he teaches. If he is supporting music from these false teaching of Evaluation, Bethel and Hillsong Then he is wrong and he needs to know what the true Gospel of God stands for and Jack Hibbs needs to stop compromising with the false teaching of Bethel, Hillsong and Evaluation.
I agree with you 100% since I used to attend a Bethel associated church in Texas with my family and it took a while to realize their false doctrine, since hey, the music was always so good. Got rid of all those CDs by Bethel, Elevation and Hillsong and others associated with them first thing our discernment kicked in. We attend a Calvary Chapel here in TX too and sometimes they play a song by these above named churches and I am not happy because like you said, it draws people to these false churches. I like that our pastor is doing expository biblical teaching and there are not many Bible teachers/preachers around like that, so what can you do when they play this music. I was definitely appalled what Jack Hibbs said in his message about this topic when I heard it last year and it’s very concerning to me. Thank you for bringing this up. Hopefully somebody sends this to Jack Hibbs.
Add Phil Wickham and Chris Tomlin to the list and you'll get so much hate mail, you'll want to never open your mouth again. I just don't understand why the elders (teaching elders or worship leaders) refuse to consider the beliefs and behavior of the singer/songwriters who are pumping doctrine into the sheep all day every day.
I have become very disappointed with Jack Hibbs after seeing him appear on Daystar, which I have never watched. How can he feel comfortable being associated with such a hyper-charasmatic group. He has to know about Joni and Doug. Very disappointing.
I've listened to this music before and personally dont care for it because it does something weird in my spirit. I start getting overly emotional. I'm not saying you shouldn't get emotional while worshipping Our Lord and Savior. But most of the songs are repeatative where it gets annoying. But that's just me.
I totally agree with you, Pastor Grant. We should not be listening to music that is associated with heresies...no matter how they make you FEEL (which feelings are instrumental in spiritual deceptions....why take the chance??? It can lead to us not entering heaven! Further, I am not surprised to know that Jack Hibbs took this misleading stance. A few years ago he stood in front of his church and stated that it is perfectly okay to be remarried while your ex-spouse is still alive. Anyone who knows scripture about this knows Jesus calls this adultery....but Jack says that's OK! A perfect example that we are to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling! How? By reading what the Word says. And BELIEVE it!
These “worship” artist and songs are sung at our church every Sunday. I just stand there and endure it. I don’t sing along as a matter of conscience. Plus the notes are always geared toward the women and are far above the vocal range of most men. We attend this church for the teaching. Not the music. Almost impossible to find both good teaching and good worship at one church these days.
I'm approaching 67 in a few days . In fact , so is Pastor Jack Hibbs . We both share the same year , month and date....both being born January 15 1958 . And we both look good for our ages , I have to say .😊 If there was never another new 'Christian' song or hymn made , I wouldn't be upset . I think too many modern day praise songs are not Holy Spirit inspired , or even heartfelt when put together... That's my view . We have so many wonderful scripturally sound hymns that go back centuries , not being sung anymore in church buildings , or those that are online . I love the Dallas First Baptist choir , along with the Brooklyn Tabernacle choir . Bill Gaither and his family of singers are wonderful. Happy New Year . 🇬🇧✝️❤️🇮🇱
I left a church I had been active in for 42 years because of this issue. A large congregation. I voiced my concerns, was ignored and rebuked. I left by myself and now arrend a small congregation that sings hymns.
I think if we showed up to worship service with a noise canceling headset 🎧 and every time we perceive a Hillsong or Bethel or Elevation song was played maybe they’d get the hint?
Disappointed with Jack, since he has such influence. I led worship for many years, and really have had to give this subject some thought. I really love some of the songs from these churches with false doctrines. But..............I have concluded that I cannot in good conscience, sing these songs that will lead to the purveyors of these heretical teachings. And there are so many other songs and wonderful old hymns, that have come from those rooted and grounded in the Faith. And frankly very sadly some people just get very upset when you interfere with their entertainment. 😬Just my opinion no haters please. Thank you for addressing this sticky subject Pastor. We must please God and not man always. No matter their titles.
Being ON a network does not mean you are believing IN a network. A NETWORK is a platform any many shows are on many networks because they USE the platform. Just like a iPhone is a platform to use a phone. A network is a platform to get your word out. If the network is proven corrupt then the good will leave the network. ABC CBS NBC for example are all Networks a good show can be on that network. That doesn't mean they love that network. The network is simply a platform. Daystar has many problems right now but that doesn't mean every show on it is a problem. They will need time to move to another network or end a contract.
I used to listen to Pastor Hibbs but I noticed when he, Jonathan Cahn, and Perry Stone started appearing on Daystar their preaching, teachings have changed. I started to feel uneasy in my spirit and stomach. I pray each of them seek the Holy Spirit and not let worldly fascination lead them astray.
Jack Hibbs changed for the worse right after speaker of the house mike johnson (the rino) asked him to pray in congress. The "spirit of pride" entered him 😕he has become arrogant, so we don't watch him anymore. Also I don't understand why he needs to be on daystar as he now has his own network (app). "the love of money is the root of all evil" 😨
Oh dear. This reminds me of the person that isn't an alcoholic that drinks in front of an alcoholic, thus stumbling him or her. If members in his church are stumbled because a song they sing, he better consider the weaker brother. It's his duty as a pastor to protecr the sheep. Praying his eyes are opened.
I have listened to Jack Hibbs for years. He seems sincere, however there are many red flags. He doesn’t have church membership. He is Armenian. His association with Daystar. Those are just a few. I pray for him often as I do Love him and some in my family follow him closely.
Churches pay royalties for the music they play? Why would a church do this to begin with? Worse yet, musicians collect royalties from churches gathering to worship GOD that play music they wrote? And this is Christians doing this to each other? Is this a mega church thing or are they all doing it? Did the old hymn writers collect royalties from churches back in the day? That's the real question to ask as a baseline here.
I agree with Jack. I couldn't tell you who wrote the song I am listening too. I'm concerned with the message. However a lot of the songs I hear in church just don't move me much like the hymns do.
I'll say it again, the Church today is mainly Laodicean, lukewarm. So yes, music along with messages matter, it's not that hard. It's common to attack the messenger these days, I see it a lot.
I have pretty much stopped listening to Klove, instead I stream Keith and Kristen Getty, CityAlight and others. Anyone out there aware of other artists that have sound doctrine that are good to listen to?
Just wondering about the knee-jerk condemnation of "hyper charismatic" Christianity: is Acts Chapter 2 "hyper charsmatic"? Is Acts 2:38-39 redacted from your Bible? Or 1 1Corinthians Chapters 10 thru 14, particularly 13:8-12 (don't stop at 11), and especially all of Chapter 14, without blocking out verse 39? 2 Timothy 3:16 tells us that ALL of those are for us. Jesus is Lord. The Holy Spirit is alive and active and leads my heart. And I will sing all of those songs. Bethyl and Hillsong and Elevation all agree that JESUS IS LORD. Nuff said. Get off your dogmatic high horse and worship God as King and Creator with His Holy Spirit leading the way!
Why? This is the problem, it seems as though, once a pastor decides to yoke with Daystar or TBN, they end up compromising not only on stuff like this but they also end up defending and praising the false teachers who helped make them famous, not only did Hibbs praise Joni Lamb even David Jeremiah praised Paul Crouch, helping him raise money for TBN - ruclips.net/video/264sHpjlK14/видео.html
Please understand, I am not angry at Hibbs or Jeremiah, I am trying to demonstrate why (I believe) this is not wise. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple."
Hibbs not only refuses to speak against these hyper charismatics causing division, he goes a step further and says YOU are the one being divisive for warning people! That is the opposite of what Paul taught in Romans 16. These televangelists totally ignore the Biblical doctrine of separation and when the famous guys do it, this bad practice trickles down into the local churches. If you think I'm wrong tell me why.
It seems to be the more we speak out the more we are condemned…
The old hymns still are the best!!!
AMEN 🙏 I AGREE WITH the tried and true Hymns ✝️📖🎚️🛐
Amen! Although the words still need to be examined. I've found many that I don't sing or I change the words.

Isn't it true that Bethel, Hillsong, and others receive royalties when this music is played? In that case, playing their music is sort of like supporting them directly.
Yes, that’s right. They get royalties every time we play their songs in church.
Great book!
Thanks for the reminder, I wanted to get it but put it on a note to purchase later.
I hear it’s a very good book!!
Very informative book!
Think about it . . .!
I agree!
As an ex-Word of Faith, I like what you said. I don't think the 120 in the upper room were singing such a song on the Day of Pentecost.
I unfortunately went to a church you described for many years. I left for good once I realized that the uneasy feeling I had was correct. I felt spiritually starved.
Exactly 💯
It's clear those people do not know or understand the Holy Spirit and what His workings are.
I was part of the praise and worship team at a church I used to attend. When decided to not sing certain songs, I explained why. I was told I think too much. I stepped down..
I used to play at a very conservative reformed church, and when they started introducing Hillsong music, I said I wouldn't play it, and I stepped down.
They didn't care.
yes it is amazing how blind believers have become... I WAS one of them once. We need to keep praying the church eyes and hearts open to the Truth
No, they think too little
Same here!
Same! "You're being judgmental," "You're over-analyzing," etc. I've lost friends over this issue, too.
A shepherd is supposed to protect the flock, not expose them to the wolves.

agree. saidly our local calvary chapel gives same response as Jack Hibbs..."I dont know anything, dont want to know anytbing about the misuse of "worship from Bethel and Hillsong". once we knew what Bill Johnson was teaching, we couldnt/wouldnt sing those songs.
I left a church because all they ever played was music from Hillsong, Bethel, and Elevation.
Good for you! Literally!!
You made the right decision!
Hibbs fellowships with the New Apostolic Reformation crowd. No separation.
I used to listen to him too but I began to have an uneasy feeling about him on which I could not quite put my finger. So I stopped listening to him.
Uneasiness....
Me too!

A ministry doesn't typically grow huge without serious compromise and scratching itching ears.

That's certainly what it looks like. We really have to stop listening to and supporting anyone in big ministry. They all know what's really going on. Read the bible asking God for understanding.

Jack Hibbs dear, don’t even get me started!
Just because the words they use in their songs sound they are honoring God it does not mean they are worshiping God.
Even Satan had the nerve to quote scriptures from the Bible to try to to cosy up to Jesus and tried to tempt Him.Last time I read the word of God I do not remember Jesus being amused by his craftiness but
He rebuked him instead!
I honestly think they do know, but having numbers is more important to them than speaking Truth.
It’s so disappointing. This happened to me. I cannot go back either. It is their JOB to know and do better. Stay strong in the Lord.
Phil Wickham is from Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. They teach the Word of God, verse by verse. Your statement is nit true.

Yes! Jack Hibbs must leave Daystar. What about fleeing the very appearance of evil? Also, beware of repeating lyrical phrases over and over; close to chanting.
What do u mean about" strong against government". Just curious because hibbs is all up in politics?
I appreciate that and agree.
Very good corollary. Thank you.
Was that with the Eggerichs by any chance ?
btw I listened to the end 🙂
Sorry about the division between you and your wife! Some thing about Jack Hibbs doesn’t sit right with me I just don’t listen to him anymore!

Thank you for opening my eyes. I always just listened to Jack Hibbs’ message online and always just skipped the music. I didn’t even know he was involved with Daystar
Pastors and worship leaders are held to a higher standard
It’s hard to hear and see this about Pastor Hibbs. I’ve learned so much through his ministry but I agree, being part of Daystar is terrible. It doesn’t take away from his doctrine of the gospel but he sure overlooks scripture telling us to distance ourselves from the false teachers or you will be just as guilty supporting them. I know he has said he would like to use any platform he can to reach people for Christ but that’s kinda like a police officer breaking the law to catch a crook.
Thank you pastor Grant. You’re truly a blessing
Thank you for an honest report Pastor,

Praying for you sister...praise Jesus that He brought you out of that and into His light!
A little leaven leavens the whole lump
Jack has to go with the worldly flow if he wants to keep his 10,000 people church.

Most church "musicians" I know are either afraid to be musically creative or don't have the skills to be.
@ and many don’t seem to be as concerned with being Biblically literate. Some seem to be more Into feelings than Biblical truth.

So, if your friend is listening to a twisted gospel, according to Hibbs, we keep our mouth shut and not tell them they are on the wrong path???
Ignorance is bliss! He clearly doesn't think Bethel is preaching a false gospel, Hibbs is on Daystar and praises Joni Lamb, he is a charismatic who defends his fellow charismatics, same old story.
Personally I'm not a fan of the loud music, strobe lights and fog machines. Just doesn't seem right to me. 🤷
there will never be an answer to all these things until saved people rely only on Jesus.
The lyrics and music actually support their false doctrines in subtle ways.
Amen! Did he even respond to your letter?
@@MyHome7_Carla I'm sure it wasn't Jack Hibbs who answered. In fact, it was worded like a form letter thanking me for reaching out to them, stating their goal was to get the gospel out by using any available platform.
@@kathymorris1176 Oh nice! That means he just doesn't care. Sad
@@Bellajane127 God is bringing the darkness and the evil deeds into the light for people to see, as He said He would. Glad you are awake, too!
@ I find that churches have become lazy and more worried about what the world will think of them than what God thinks
I agree with you pastor Michael. We should always bring our brothers and sisters to the light when we see something. wrong. That is loving them in Christ Jesus !
Is it just me, or is Jack Hibbs inching his way into heresy?
Yes. There's a slow gradual change happening. The fame, power, money always knocks them out in the end.
Jack Gibbs is a people pleaser not a God pleaser
Hibbs.... deceiving and being deceived
Agree
Wow it's very telling when he covers his ears!!!
I agree with you 💯
Well said.
If you have a problem with music being loud - How do you reconcile that with the Holy, Glorious and Sacred Word?
Psalm 100:1
Make a joyful noise to Yahweh all the earth.

Agree with you 100% Pastor
I agree with you. Evil communication corrupt good manners (morals)
1 Corinthians 15:33
Now I understand why I can’t and I don’t want to listen to contemporary gospel music.
Agree with you Pastor
Excellent video. I recently left my church because that's all they sang and the preaching was becoming weak. Thanks for educating me about Jack Hibbs.
Isn't Hillsong the grave suckers? Or Bethel
Bethel
Pastor Grant is correct, but Hillsong has its own set of scandals and false
Teaching
After watching the teaching of NH Church, East Lansing for several years, my husband and I no longer watch, as they continue to use Hillsong music etc in their worship. It is compromise. It is flirting with the enemy. Their using Hillsong etc music is an endorsement. Who knows how many of their congregation, including on line congregation, are directed to these heretical churches as a result. Tried very lovingly and honestly bringing it to their attention via a comment on RUclips. They deleted my comment, without acknowledgement or response. We can't, in good conscience, continue to watch. So disappointed.
Who is NH?
I agree wholeheartedly. When I say as such, I get a shocked look from many. It is as if they think tares in the ministry do not exist.
Sit down, be quiet and be a good audience while we get up and do our show on the stage
Sad but true.
Now that you know, Jack Hibbs, you are held accountable.
My problem is that they pay for the rights to play the music…therefore they are supporting the dark parts even if the lyrics are acceptable 🤦🏻♀️
Exactly.
I have become very disappointed with Jack Hibbs after seeing him appear on Daystar, which I have never watched. How can he feel comfortable being associated with such a hyper-charasmatic group. He has to know about Joni and Doug. Very disappointing.
With that same thought in mind that same argument then should you not listen to oh holy night because the words were penned by an atheist the lyrics?
Didn't know that but there is zero risk that song will lead people into atheism, listening to Hillsong could lead people into that cult.
I've watched Hibbs a few times and find it troubling that comments are always turned off. At least every one that I watched.
And we both look good for our ages , I have to say .😊
If there was never another new 'Christian' song or hymn made , I wouldn't be upset .
Lol
What kind of music do you play? Honest question just wondering.
Hibbs is more than just on a platform, he pays them and he praises and fellowships with Joni Lamb.
Jack Hibbs is a leader so he shouldn’t condone this music. He’s held to a higher standard than people who “don’t know” when he “does know”.
I don't think it should be played in our churches
I love singing the Psalms and Hymns, this is True Worship, because the Words come direct from the BIBLE
AMEN.
I personally feel Jack Hibbs might have a little of his foot in this world still, he just comes off that way. Maybe I'm wrong.
Is he holy Spirit baptised ?
'Worshiptainment' by Matthew Everhard addresses this issue
In 2004, the AOG church I was attending went "Bethel" and I left the AOG.
Thank you for speaking about this. We are to test the spirits! And music has a powerful way of carrying an atmosphere along...
Thank you pastor Grant!
2 Timothy 4:3-4 🙏
I mute the “music” when I listen to Jack Hibbs program. I can’t stand the chanting. Shallow repetitive untalented.
