I can still remember the Christmas morning when that was under the tree. Laying on the floor, impatiently watching as my dad stuck all the stickers on. I sure miss him. I wish I could go back to that day.

As a child I thought this was one of the most amazing things ever.
I played w mine as a kid so much that all the stickers wore away-this is so neat to see. Wish I was 5 again!

me and my brother would play with this for hours. it drove me nuts that he would drive the cars up the down ramp. I still feel the same watching you run the cars up the down ramp. lol...great set! great memories! I hope to find one.

The car wash has two little knobs on top of it that push the car back and forth. I can't believe I remembered that lol. It was by far one of my favorite toys. Very cool find!

Had one of these as a kid and also the construction site sto & go set, absolutely loved them. I don't know if I was just given them at the same time or they came with them (in the UK) but my sets had a Black Trans-Am (which was the Bandit's car as far as I was concerned!) with this one and a yellow dump truck with the construction site.

The high speed chase ending in a PIT maneuver at the gas pump was the best part. 👍
Wow I remember as a kid one of my neighbors had one of these like in 87' ..I must have been in 5th grade n I wanted one so freaking bad, ..but I never saw them in stores I suppose he must've got his second hand or something, I never knew they where so old, ..I also remember another one just like this one but with a construction zone theme, with a fully functioning crane on top, and half of the ramp was simulated to look like dirt, have you seen that one?

Actually I wasn't born in 1979 when this came out so therefore I was born in '80 instead, I remember around 1987-88 at only 7 or 8 my parents helped me out trying to do find a toy garage at the thrift store and then all of a sudden there it was and so someone had already put the stickers on the thing.
After that, I would get all my Mattel Hot Wheels cars and trucks that would change colors and use them

Good afternoon. Next november I will fulfill 54 years old and this video brings to me a lot of grateful memories about my childhood. In the beginning of 1970´s my older brother gave me a Hot Wheels track; it wasn´t as sophisticated like yours one, but I enjoyed a lot. The best part is despite a lot of electronic games, Hot Wheels Toy Cars are still manufactured and sold. Greetings from Venezuela.

Great video! I never realised Matel sold this for so long. I remember nagging my parents for this for Christmas when I was six or seven years old which would have been 1983 or 1984 and it still looked just like your 1979 example. A year later they released the construction site which was based on the same fold-up carry case design but with a different interior. I only found out later that the stickers didn't come pre-applied. On both occasions my mum spent ages on Christmas Eve applying all the stickers :)

Me and my brother had a set of this garage, only thing was after a while the back legs would pop off and get lost so my brother and a I would steel each others, 😅😅 when all were lost we held the back up with a pile of books. Endless amount of fun.

Today the elevator would hook up to wifi and the garage doors would have a remote ,the gas pumps would blast gangsta rap, the grass and flower stickers would be beer and mountain dew litter mixed with a few mcdonalds bags, the mechanic shop would be a vape liquor sto 😂

I was born in 1977. I had this set, and another one similar to it as a kid. If I remember right, you could place them face to face and there was a track that would connect them together. I forgot all about these things until a few days ago...

Awesome. And box-opening!? Wow. I was born in '74 and had one of these sets. Great fun. Don't know who put the stickers on. Probably my mom. Btw, classic beetle gas tank openings tend to be on the front-right and not the rear-right. Just sayin'! :)

I was counting the spaces to see where the 15 cars goes and I though there are not enough spaces for the 15 cars, but, looks like storing cars as you did at the end of the video there is room for more than 15 cars

I had similar service center like this,back in '80s,but on my,i could remove left and right curves. It was yellow-ish colour..
I think this must be a 1981 (possibly very late 1980) re-release because the Hot Wheels car Turismo (red, lower right, next to the Good Housekeeping seal), the car which was originally designed to be a DeLorean but which was slightly altered after licensing fell through, appears on the box but that casting didn't premiere until the 1981 series (which started to hit stores at the end of 1980).
Also, the original release of the Service Center Sto & Go had a Hot Bird (Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am) included but this re-release seems to be without any cars.
