Choosing your favorite AF album is like choosing your favorite child. Having said that Reflektor is next level.
I know music theory! The line in black wave is making a use of a minor chord that I think is out of the scale, (the eerie part) and than returning to the tonic of the scale, G major (the happy part)

Sprawl II was one of my very favourite songs when I was 8 or 9 so whenever I listen to it I get nostalgic
Reflektor is definitely S tier idk why it gets all the hate it does. It is my favorite AF album.

Reflektor is great, I honestly don't get the hate.
Enjoyed your review and agree with most of it. Give Ocean of Noise another listen. It’s one of my favourites. Reflektor is full of 80’s sounding treasures that you might only hear if you lived through that era. The combo of Awful Sound/Hey Orpheus is as AFAF as it gets. Sprawl 2 was the song that got me hooked on this band.
Giving Ocean of Noise another listen. I don't remember what I said in this video but this track is pretty good. At least without the context of the album as a whole. The climax of the track is great, especially when those strings come in. Also Sprawl 2 is incredible :)

I have relistened to Everything Now several times recently after initially thinking it sucked and now I love it. Creature Comfort is one of my favorite AF songs.
Really enjoyed the video. I will absolutely check it out. Quebec has a very interesting culture and history which is seriously underrated. I am a fan of the film her and I am absolutely not a fan of Organized Religion so it sounds like my kind of band.
I've been considering making a video about the music culture out in Montreal for a while now actually.. Definitely take a look at this band haha!

@@KyleReidMu I just truly did not enjoy on first listen, quite a bit so that I have not listened to it again sense. It's just not really my style I think, or maybe it's just an acquired taste that takes a few sips to get into.
@@justnoahherehello I would definitely give it a couple more listens. I also really didn't enjoy it on my first list. It took me about 3 or 4 listens for it to click with me
@@KyleReidMu huzzah! I have returned to say that Neon Bible is pretty lit brah 🤘🤘🤘 and Everything Now has fallen to number 5. Funeral hasn't changed position. Reflektor has gone ahead of The Suburbs.

@@justnoahherehello That's basically how I would rank them except I'd put neon bible above the suburbs. My opinion might change though because I've only listened to the suburbs twice.

You're right. Whatever sound that's happening during the verse (a synth, probably?) really hits my brain the right way
