Interesting! I rode on Houston Metro buses from Monday, January 7'th, 1985 until Friday, March 24'th, 1989. My bus riding experiences were fun, enjoyable, memorable, and relaxing!
Wow, it's surprising that not to long ago these routes were canceled, like 1 Hospital, and others like 131 I hadn't heard of at all. And the number changes really confuse me, like the 66. By the time I was using it, didn't go anywhere near downtown.
I know that this is old footage, but what happened to the 2000 New Flyers fleet no. 2800-2899;2900-2949? I remember West Garage had 2864-2899, but now I don't see them anymore. I see some of the 3300s that were at Kashmere Garage. Does anyone know how long the rest of the 2000 New Flyers will be in service? I really liked hearing the Cummins/ZF meritor axle combo. Where are the 20 additional articulated buses going. Is West Garage getting more units or perhaps Hiram Clarke will start operating them again. I remember that they used to operate on the 68 and 163 in the old system.

Dang I love Houston’s bus fleet. Very diverse
Yeah man definitely its been a while but i should go back one day. Especially if i can hunt down some old MCI buses
just too bad i missed out on the New Flyer Viking buses
Same nyc pretty diverse as well
Unique bus agency with bus advertising on last two windows of the bus instead of body, very futuristic
I miss those routes
You think the old.routes were better??

The former 131 is now the 162 Memorial Express. The 1 is now comprised of multiple routes.
The 66 goes by my house now.
The trains go to downtown if you want to transfer from bus to train

sorry i dont personally know alot of specifics on houston metro, but im sure someone will come across this and answer this for you
A lot of them were auctioned off. They still have some that haven’t been auctioned off surprisingly
@@isaakbaumann3630 If we're still talking about the 2001 NFI D40LF, I know we have 12 of them here at Northwest Garage.
LL0505 wait. They’re still floating around Houston?
The 2900s are at Kashmere and Polk as of right now. I doubt they’ll have them re-enter service but idk.
Their Logo looks similar to NJ TRANSIT'S
When i was a kid i had a Road Champs Flxible model of one of these metro buses, and i thought the same thing at the time.
Houston has a lot of different style of buses.
I think I have rode most of the bus routes.
Which ones
7:02 at Mcgown and Scott 54 pass me up bus #3685
What
What do you mean..
The Bus stopped ..
✌️✌️✌️✌️ thanks for checking out my video and thanks for the comment
was that a Orion NG that was first?

this footage is old though as most of those routes no longer exist as we redesigned our bus system completely
