That sounds about right.
I have no idea what you just said and I agree 100%

I tried to do this with a snake I saw outside. Turns out that it’s was a real “danger noodle.”

Girl at 9:31 "Get a pet snake thats native in your country" "okay then" southern eastern Australians: INLAND TAIPANS (MOST VENOMOUS SNAKE)
as an Australian, it is a law to only have natives, its not new, its been like this for years, like since the late 19’s, and I have a Carpet python and Spotted python, (Even tho my handle and pfp show a Amethysteine Python I do not or have interest in owning one I just think their neat but they are available as pets and are pretty good pets) Might own a Green tree Python later
She's not saying for you to risk your life with a poisonous snake. She's just saying that if there's a safe/legal native option, it'd be preferable to owning a non-native snake.
Snakes make great pets, if you do your research. I had my corn snake for 15 years and she was amazing.
Whenever your snake shed, did the shedded/shed skin feel like paper? Just out of pure curiosity.
@@redrosevrofficial It's weird. It's closer to vellum than paper since it has a little "stretch" to it at first, then it dries up like paper.

9:43 Lady: "Get a snake that's native to your area
Me: (lives in Texas) "Alright let's go find a water mocassin!"
This is indeed bad advice depending on where you live. Keeping a native snake in the country I live in would be highly illegal. All three native species are protected by European law and can not be kept as pets whatsoever.
Me living in Brazil: Nice, let's get a rattlesnake!
Y'all, it was just some advice. She wasn't *demanding* you to get a native snake. She was just saying that if a safe option is available, to get a native snake. If you don't have a safe/legal native option, then, by all means, get a ball python

If you're able to take care of them go for it.
It's your familys loss

Good way to keep your family from coming over 😆
Get one. My parents finally let me get a snake and they love him even though they said they wouldn't go near him.
As an owner of four snakes, I can promise you, the hype is not a lie, they’re such adorable little noodles
Agreed, they’re just the cutest babies. I’ve had mine for almost nine months and she’s never bitten me. Just does her huffy little moody teen thing if she doesn’t wanna be held
"get a native species" yeah i dont really want a western diamondback rattlesnake rn
And we only have one native snake 🙃
Don’t want a cottonmouth or copperhead
My fav is the western diamondback actually-
Yeah, I don’t feel like owning a cottonmouth rn, not too experienced with venomous reptiles (not counting rear fanged snakes like hog noses)
She wasn't *demanding* you to get a native snake, she just said it was preferable to importing a snake. If you don't have a safe/legal native option, then get the ball python of your dreams. No one's forcing you to follow her advice.
14:34 if you see a hognose snake doing this, DO NOT TOUCH THEM. They play dead when scared or stressed, so leave them alone and admire these cuties from a distance.
Thanks for the info

He was smiling :D
A farting snake isn’t healthy yk
hes definitely got something wrong with it.
If your snake farts its not good.
Snakes are so cute I bc love them
One day when I'm an adult, definitely going to get my own pet snek. Always adored these guys. Don't care what snek it is as long as it is a native snek. My mom doesn't want to deal with the process of feeding rats/mice to sneks. Definitely gonna give it loads of space in the house I'll have. Definitely gonna try to hold it as least many times as possible to keep it less stressed.
I've owned two different ball pythons. (Had to get rid of them both because moving houses.) My family (besides my little brothers) think they are slimey and not cute babies.0/10 my family did not pass the vibe check.
My mom was the same way for about 10 years. Since I was eight I wanted a ball python, but she was terrified of snakes. After showing her some vids of them on YT she now finds them cute...mostly, lol. But she said I can finally get one!!! If you ever get one again show your fam how cute and sweet they are, it might help. :D
They're not even slimy lol
Ball pythons are super soft! I don’t get why ppl think they could ever be slimy!
I want a sneke but my mom hats them
same lol
No SAME FR
10:33 what’s really sad and tragic is that when snake owners do this to their snakes, the snakes are having an existential crisis, trying to hold onto something, meanwhile those dumb idiots (their owner who is recording them) is thinking lol funny noodle do the thing.
It made me pretty sad seeing that. The poor baby!
Me trying to get over my fear of snakes: Yeah I think I’ll watch this and try not to be terrified

when i move out im getting a snake for sure. I would get one now but my parents don't like snakes and I have a dog I love very much right now
i just spent 10 minutes looking up non-venomous snakes that are native to where I live and now I want them even more cause they're so cute
Sammee, but instead of a dog, I have 3 cats that I love very much ♡
I couldn't get a native species if I wanted to since it's illegal to own any of them and there's only eight species here
same, my country only has 5 species and they're all protected by law

I have four corn snakes but they almost never come out of their cages. Any tips in general?
You're not supposed to just let them out. You just pick them up and hold them, then place them somewhere you can watch them. And always either be holding or watching them- They escape easy

"Get a native species"
Actually, not always the best advice, because in many places keeping native species is illegal or requires a special permit.
i wish my snake was chill like these ones. she didnt eat at my house for the first 11 months i had her (we had to bring her back to the store often so she could eat) and now she will only eat mice if they are defrosted for 12 hours and then wrapped in ham. and recently she has started biting me 😢 im trying to socialize her often but i dont know what else to do
Wrapped in ham? Never heard that one before. I guess try reducing the amount of ham over time? Idk

I am from Michigan USA
2:00 making an enclosure out of a shelf with a glass door is honestly such a creative idea
I would probably do it if I had a corn snake. I'm thinking about getting one when I'm a bit older..(13\14 maybe?)
I keep seeing people criticising the girl's advice at 9:31
Y'all, she's not *demanding* that you only keep native snakes as a pet. She's saying that if there's the *SAFE* and *LEGAL* option to own a native snake, you should own one of those instead.
I get most of the comments critisizing her are probably just jokes, but c'mon, guys. Chill out.
Quick note: don't actually get a native species unless its an animal that you know you can care for. I can think of maybe one species native to my area that would be a good idea to keep (nonvenomous), ethical (has care requirements that I can actually meet/does well in captivity), and isn't rare enough in the captive breeding community to destroy my wallet. Also, captive-born snakes are likely to die in the wild even if they're native (though they have increased chances ofc) because the conditions they escape into might not be favorable enough for them to survive, such as no easy access to water/prey/hides.
Also also...your snake escaping shouldn't be enough of a factor for you to account for it as part of owning one, because you should be taking the proper precautions to avoid escape in the first place. Do your best to snakeproof your enclosure, and then put that enclosure in a room that is as snakeproof as possible. I'm not saying that it won't happen, because the little buggers are escape artists, but preventing and preparing for an escape is an essential part of owning a snake. And even then, the burmese pythons infesting the everglades were due to a hurricane, so it wasn't exactly them escaping their enclosure normally, it was a natural disaster. That you shouldn't release a pet into the wild is a given as well.
I'm not entirely against the idea! The native species I mentioned that I can keep comfortably would be a rosy boa, and those are darling snakes in captivity. I also suggest learning the snake species native to your area so that you can properly appreciate them and help teach others which ones are dangerous or not, and why both venomous and nonvenomous snakes are essential to the environment. It's just that it's not the best advice to follow when most native snakes are either high-strung colubrids that do poorly in captivity, specialist hunters who need a diet that you can't provide for, or rattlesnakes.
Yeah, I think it’s mostly just common sense, like, obviously the advice doesn’t work for everybody. I think it’s more about a suggestion because lots of people go straight for fancy, tropical snakes and forget about the other options. Native species have lots of benefits, obviously including the fact that they won’t become invasive but also lots besides that, but it’s not a must.
