Something you should be super proud of is, that you realize that you become a different person with alcohol.
Many ppl, with or without alc, dont reflect them selfs and dont realize, they become monsters.
I feel you, I am the same. I become someone I dont wanna to meet or have as a friend when I am drunk.
I dont know the right english translation, but in german we say "Teufelswasser" what means "Devils Water".
It comes from the time, when the sedlers used alcohol as a weapon against the native Americans.
And some people become devils when they are drunken.

Record them..:. Keep it on a secure cloud account. Then show it to them and see how they react, if they really didn’t remember they’ll apologize and try to stop drinking, if they get mad and try to delete it they’ve known the whole time.

I am a nice, happy drunk 90% of the time. The other 10% I am not so much fun to be around. There are weird little triggers for me, it's bizarre. Must go back to my youth or something. I'm surprised I don't have a criminal record, and I consider myself lucky.

my identical twin sister is abusive when she drinks, for many years, she even slit her throat in front of me when we were in our 30's we are both 50 now. She will get in rages and want to fight with me physically, I found knives under my mattress before it was over. CRAZY.

I don't like the person I turn into when I drink anymore. It didn't always use to be this way when I first started out it relaxed me but as my body's tolerance levels went up it gave less and less of calming effect. Then all it dose is turn off the thinking reasoning part of your brain and leaving you hopelessly angry unsatisfied. I am use to being unsatisfied but at least when I am sober and unsatisfied I don't break my own stuff...

Dear Annie, Your presentation truly amazed me and I understood every point that you made! Every word you spoke held my attention and was fascinating and full of hope for not just those who are violent drunks, but especially, family members (including children who are abused, etc.) , innocent victims (and their families) who face unimaginable horrors, etc. Thank you for your amazing presentation!

"hope for not just those who are violent drunks" - Didn't she actually say in first 2min between the lines that the problem is 'we thinking the problem is "those drunks" while "good people" are also behaving aggressively', it is so mainstream that you have to really break stuff before it's aggressive otherwise it's just "him/her being drunk". I don't drink anymore but I used to and when I did it was everybody else that were the assholes.. or so I thought. When speaking about alcohol, the abuser can be a victim too, only one winning is the liquor store.

  • @19smkl91

Over half of the times I drink I become aggressive and hostile, so now I don't drink* and people think I'm weird.
*Few exeption in a year being with friends whom I trust and know me.
Talking about genes that make you aggressive, why, we don't know almost anything how the genes actually work so the topic is useless. What I think is happening is when you drink and become intoxicated more and more the body has to shut off parts of brain to "survive" through the intoxication and while brain capacity is lowering by the minute it becomes harder to walk, remember, stay upright etc. while it also lowering perception and triggering fight or flight.
Maybe you can forsee brain patterns from the genes but also the wellfare of the brain is depentend on what you eat, how you exercise physically and mentally, state of mind etc, and these can change much faster than genes.

A medication to “cure” Alcohol-induced violence would be wonderful. Few Alcoholics will ever stop drinking because it messes with the GABA neurotransmitters in the brain making withdrawal painful, sometimes deadly. I’m all for it, if the alcoholic takes it.. many alcoholics are the kind of people who refuse to take medications of any kind. But maybe they will, if only for the victims’ sake because they are usually hurting most the people they are supposed to love.

i think its not the alcohols fault, alcohol only lowers inhibition, if you are surpressing a violent nature or you've been stressed to the point where your adrenals run out and you go into fight or flight then alcohol will bring it out
