  • On Saturday, October 19, 2013, Creative Time and the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art at the Brooklyn Museum presented “Between the Door and the Street,” a major work by the internationally celebrated artist Suzanne Lacy. Some 400 women and a few men-all selected to represent a cross-section of ages, backgrounds, and perspectives-gathered on the stoops along Park Place, a residential block in Brooklyn, where they engaged in unscripted conversations about a variety of issues related to gender politics today. Thousands of members of the public came out to wander among the groups, listen to what they were saying, and form their own opinions.

Has anything come of Suzanne Lacy's decree to establish women's self-defense classes at schools and government offices? Anything from a company that offers it or maybe a law or policy that got written?

I will remain shocked till the day I die that at the end of all the work and progress women collectively accomplished men still made sure to grab the reigns and make you share the spotlight. They took f’n birth away from you.
Was it always a sham ? All that fire from the 60s and it’s aimed at JK Rowling?
Ohh well , if it’s not keeping anyone up I guess I’m over it too.
