Listening to this song (SIRIVIA) reminds me of those old days in the 70s when i first saw Tineyi chikupo live on stage. This man is massive talent. How i wish ZBC would reporduce some of his videos for the current generation to watch. I liked him so much.

My Dad had this track and I also enjoyed the song but then I did not understand a lot of things that were being sung. But the lines that I could understand were " Hama dzedu muchifarirana, Hama dzedu musazvondane; Hama dzedu muchidanana; " Great lyrics there. As I grew I then learnt that some of the lines in the lyrics were made abstract so that the Colonial government would not understand the underlying message which was to encourage the youth to go to Mozambique to take up arms.That was a cause some believed then was worth to die for.
Interesting... They say in the first studio recording of this song, he sang 'Siriviya hande kuMogadishu'. He then said I will change it on stage. On some live performances he would sing, 'Siriviya hande kuMozambique'. Later on he changed it to 'Siriviya hande kumagobo'. The message was, let's remove the 'stumps'. The stumps being proponents of minority rule
