He has a high pitched goofy voice, he likes to joke around & play pranks but combat wise only ErLangShen 二郎神 (if only Tienshinhan was as badass) can fight toe to toe with Wukong. 孙悟空Sun Wukong (or Son Goku the Japanese way of pronouncing his name) is the greatest hero across all of Asia. There's countless books, manga & anime, music, movies, tv shows made based off of Journey to the West and Wukong. Dragon Ball is famous world wide (later Naruto too) but ppl who loved Dragon ball dont really know the basis/inspiration for the series which is Journey to the West and Sun Wukong. Like me most Asians born in 1980s & 90s know & love the 1986 live action Journey to the West show. Game science even included the famous OST from the show. That's why Wukong gave himself the title 齐天大圣Great Sage Equal to Heaven. ErLangShen had help from other gods and together they captured Wukong but Wukong is an immortal and could not be executed. In the end, the Buddha himself created a mountain and trapped Wukong under it.
