    A good lecture but it does not match with the title. The title is Metaphysical Poets- John Donne" but it talks about Metaphysical poetry in genral. The prof. starts talking about Donne in 42nd mint. n that too in a very normal sense when im listening now in 43rd mint he is talking about Donne as a Love Poet. I spent time on the vedio to know about Donne as Metaphysical poet but sorry to say the vedio contains very little in this regard. My suggestion is that every lecture should be appropriately titled so that the viewer can save his/her time.

    It's a new trend people consider only accent is important than knowledge but he belongs to those days when knowledge was important rather than American accent. Illiterate person can speak in American English but he can't gain knowledge like him.

    why these famous guys have not got the basics of pronounciation

    • @anjalirawat9941
      @anjalirawat9941 7 лет назад +1

      Basics of pronunciation varies in different parts of the world

    • @muhammadebrahim6931
      @muhammadebrahim6931 7 лет назад +1

      English experts must learn the way how each word pronounces........if not possible ...try to get back.......bcz indian English always creates problom when we go out of India.......so it is highly recommended to teach good accent.....

    • @anjalirawat9941
      @anjalirawat9941 7 лет назад +8

      I don't think it is necessary for one to learn how to pronounce words a certain way. Pronunciation is geographically distinct, the whole concept of accents is based around that. Yes, I agree it might be difficult to communicate at times, however learning to pronounce words a certain way is one's preference.

      Standardisation is a desired fact

    • @anjalirawat9941
      @anjalirawat9941 7 лет назад +15

      well, if one can understand what another is saying that is a standard itself. There is no rule out there that one needs to speak in British or American accent in order to be understood. At the end of the day, I would rather listening to someone with an accent who is conveying knowledge than a person who is talking gibberish in a "standardized" English.
