- How do you pick an artist name? Choosing an artist name can be a long, difficult process-here's some tips to help you decide!
Whether you're trying to decide between a few names or you have no idea what to call yourself, this video is for you.
After spending a way too much time trying to pick out my own artist name I've discovered some useful tools to speed up the process. I'm going to give you some techniques to help you brainstorm and decide on a music artist name, DJ name, producer name, band name, or a name for any other type of artist!

Yeah, I really do believe that an artist name doesn’t matter as much as it feels like it does. Hmm, I could see Jin Rook fitting for Indie, Pop, Folk, Electronic, Rap, and maybe even Progressive Metal or Math Rock. It’s a pretty versatile name! I could see it working for a solo artist or band as well.

I've been trying to find an artist name for a long time, still haven’t found a good one. My Greek name isn’t the easiest one to pronounce and remember

Andy Marshal is my real name and it evokes the Marshall guitar amps brand which is close to my niche, so I should be happy and create more content rather than look for improvements in this field.
I want a unique nickname that will help me glow to a stronger person. I have some ideas and I keep going back to my first choice. 😂

I honestly can’t decide if I should use my nickname I’ve had for years that many people have used, or just some random name no one has used.
From a marketability and longterm standpoint I'd consider going with the name no one has used. But if you really like your nickname I'm sure you can make it work!

Idk how to create my name. For almost two years now I've created abt 200 names and most of them start with Y, cuz I wanted Yung and Youth (and similars) but those are already occupied and idk what to do. I want a name that starts with Y (bc it stands for Young) and is related to skateboard. I will play indie rock and produce some beats. Any ideas? Nice vid btw!

Woo for being the 100th comment!! 🎉 200 names is a lot! You've really gone through a lot of ideas. It's challenging finding names that aren't already taken.
How about something like "Yskate"? Or maybe combine different words that start with Y with the word skateboard or things associated with skating. Maybe even a random word generator or Chat GPT could help get some more ideas flowing.

Do you think Ana Mars is a good artist name? Ana is my first name and Mars is just something I added when I was little. I'm trying to think of something else but I don't really know what else. The problem is so many people already use "Mars" so idk
Ana Mars is a wonderful artist name! There's a ton of people who have "freshly" or "sunlit" in their artist name, but no one has both except me 😌 And it looks like it's the same with Ana Mars-some people have Ana or Mars, but you'd be the first to put them together! That name should be ok to use. City names are public domain and can't be trademarked, which is why you see those I
hey man, I've been thinking about "Beau Aramis" and I liked it for a few months but now that i look back at it, i think it sounds too "French" and I'm not even French. I like 'Beau' but I'm not too sure about Aramis, i think I wanna replace it with something else, but idk where to start, like where do i find new names/words

Ok I have a problem. I want to release music, but I also am a stage performer. I do theatre, and so my branding on social media is my natural name. Which is a great stage name, McLain Hunter. I’m torn with whether or not, I should create a separate account for my music, which will mean choosing a different artist name, or conjoining my theatre account with my singing one to just be my natural name McLain. I like my middle name too, Elise. I just am torn between whether or not to use my name. And if it has that “It” singer quality to it if you know what I mean?
I really like the name McLain Hunter! It's a great name for a music artist-plus there's no one else with that name making music so that's a huge plus! When people search for you they can actually find you! I'd recommend just keeping everything together in one account under your name. Social media is muuuuch more manageable without separate accounts. It's cool to see a more complete picture of a person on their social media account, and blending theater and music seems natural. Elise is a beautiful middle name. With or without the addition of the your middle name I think your name is fantastic. 💛

I'd say go for it! I did a search and there doesn't seem to be any other artists with that name, which I think is one of the most important factors when choosing an artist name is that it's unique and not already taken. Best of luck mate!

klash redbone might be a better choice because there are multiple artists on Spotify with the name "druid" so people might mix you up with them.

Abstract art and music can totally go together! if you have an interest whatsoever in trying out writing songs or poetry give it a go! It can take some time to get the hang of a new skill, but you'll know sooner than later if you have a knack for it or if you enjoy it and wanna keep doing it!
