I'm saving up for a drawing tablet so I can start to do digital drawing but can't find any I like. I was wondering if you had any recommendations or which one you use (I have £500 budget) ☺ I love your vids btw THEY ARE *SO* GOOD 😍
Haira being loved by her village because of her powers and Pariah being an outcast from her villiage because she has no power is such an amazing juxtaposition!
Maybe, Haira works with Koru and when Pariah goes to fight Koru (assuming that’s what you’re planning), she meets Haira and it turns out they’re related (plot twist)! Pariah asks Haira if she knows what she’s (Pariah) supposed to grow and Haira just shrugs her off coldly.
A head cannon i have is when Haira gets found out or starts using her powers more offensively, her hair unravels and it looks like Pariah' short bits but longer, wispier and curls in more. I also like the idea of fairies in colder climates having wings shaped like moth wings because they look like they always have a lil scarf on 😊
Haira looks like Pariah but grown up Maybe she got fed up with her village and ran away, somehow finding out what plant she uses. Then she found the gem, which changed her eye color. She then snuck into a village far away from her own, charming the people with her magical tea and brainwashing them into believing she is the king's granddaughter. Now she is finally loved by her people, she has everything she didn't have back home, and all she had to sacrifice was her identify and past friendships.
You know an idea is that you could like make the gems some sort of exotic seed, that way when someone tries to use it it’s actually slowly possessing the user more and more the more the user uses it, and maybe a good reason why hera could want it is because she was almost like periah where she didn’t have any powers and stuff, so in the main universe that could be a motivation the villain has, and possible good moment the villain could like being convincing periah to be on his side or something by saying “we are the same, we both started the same way, I could give you power”
Even if you don't end up using Haira, you could reference her in a fairytale kinda way. Like maybe in the main story where they are learning about the gems, you could have them talk about this old legend from 100s of years ago about her and how she brainwashed the kingdom and such. Idk, it's just a suggestion. I love her design so much and I think she definitely captures the mirror aspect of Pariah.
What you could do is you can look up an antonym for the word ‘pariah’ itself. Since ‘Pariah’ means ‘social outcast’ words that mean ‘beloved’ could work. A few examples are Diletta, Aphrodite, Imogen, and Vida
If you want you can use her as an anti-villian and foil for Pariah, they can be similar yet very different! It will put the characters in a difficult position, like on one hand she is obviously on the bad guys side but on the pther hand she has lead a kingdom of pretty happy people so can she truly be that bad? These are question our MCs can use! And ultimately come to the right conclusion whatever that might be! Also i might want her in the story simply because of her design as well, lol
I feel like a potential idea for Haira may be that she is secretly a magic-less and was an outcast like Pariah (her ‘strong magic’ being one of her many lies and purely her gem). Not considered fit by the public when she was younger for the role of royalty, even disliked by her grandfather who (if he’s anti too), unlike Pariah’s, wasn’t very warm and welcoming to Haira as Pariah’s was to her. This likely left Haira feeling unloved and on thin ice, since if she was ever to be kicked out of her royal family it would leave her on the harsh cold streets with nothing but the people who hate her, and even forced out onto the harsher icier outskirts to survive if they hated her enough to drive her out. I imagine that making that tea may have once been her healthiest coping mechanism for herself, now turned into a weapon of control, which even before it did was still bad for her in excess which would have probably been the case if she was using it to cope and stay calm Especially so young, this probably had her scared and built this mindset of only looking out for herself (since no one bothered to show or teach her about caring for others despite their inabilities, especially if they weren’t willing to do the same for her). Looking for agency could have led to the path where she found the gem and finally felt powerful, in control of her life and that people loved her on her terms - becoming attached only to her gem (dependent on it) Having probably had years experience with the gem has likely helped her to feel in control and calm, finally feeling above others for both herself and as THE head member of the royal family The lore part where she really doesn’t want people to leave her sort of sprung this theory/idea thing, since it felt rather emotionally driven for someone who acts collected and is secretly cold
You should make a video where you draw the same character in all of your different styles and compare (normal, chibi elf, anti, and so on). I think that would be super cool to see!
If you’re ever using Haïra (added accent bc it felt more Scandinavian idk) for the story, I suggest that it makes her more dynamic for her to not poison her kin. Her grandpa could be innocent enough to think she’s doing the right thing, and it deepens her character to have a soft spot for someone.
This is so cool! I feel like a short side story would be cool for Haira, she’s such and interesting character I’m very excited for Pariah’s story and plushie!

Shading changes the color a whole bunch! My siblings and I jokingly call the Blue-Eyes White Dragon from Yu-Gi-Oh "Blue-Eyes Blue Dragon" because of how blue it's shaded in the anime.
Idea for pariah anti character in the story : she could be her twin sister and have a complicated relationship with paraiah due to always being compared and seen as better. The story could be about pariah not only trying to get her powers , and defeating the villian but also about reconciling her relationship with her sister and to prove to the townsfolk that is also as worthy of their respect as her twin.
It would be interesting if Hera also didnt have any flower she could grow and she became evil because of how she was treated and she wanted to prove herself?

Yesss, more OC exploration and designing! I LOVE these types of videos! Also, I know you already named her, but when you were talking about names the first thought I had is to take the antonym/opposite of Pariah (since she's named after the word pariah). For example, the word "paragon" kind of sounds similar, but means "a person or thing regarded as a perfect example". I don't know how Paragon sounds as a name, but it is a cool word! Another word I thought of is "revere", which means "to feel deep admiration for". To make it sound more like a name, I thought of a similar-sounding word, reverie. Reverie means "being lost in thought; a daydream", which in the case of your character I thought of the mind-control vibe, haha. Like when someone comes to her kingdom and drinks her tea, they fall into a reverie. A few other words I thought of were "prodigy", "quintessence", and "luminary". Also, about Koru, on the other video I had an idea. Since some trees flower and produce fruits (fig trees do), you could make it so that tree people exist, but trees that flower also have a corresponding fairy. Then, maybe Koru was the fairy for fig flowers on a strangling fig, and there was also a tree person for the strangling fig, but Koru "took over" them and consumed their power for himself. Something really interesting I found out is that the strangler fig tree "produces no visible flowers. Instead, flowers are contained inside a hollow receptacle known as a fig." So maybe that could be interesting lore?

Idk how it's spelled T^T) being a discreet villain really works, and her growing labrador tea is honestly really sneaky, kinda like when names reveal a part of the story. Also, I might be saving for some CDs at the moment, but Imma be needing that plushie lmao

The word "Pariah" has a very specific meaning-outcast, exiled-so maybe the opposite version of the character could've had a name with an opposite meaning, rather than just the same name spelled backwards. My suggestion would be a name with a meaning that alludes to mercy and/or forgiveness, something like Bethesda or Kyrie.

evil Pariah's name should be something meaning "dearest" or "beloved", for example "Diletta" means beloved (plus i think that sounds kind of regal). Also a diletta is a kind of flower too! (it's not actually a "winter plant" but it's a yellow flower just like pariahs are)

I like to think that Haira's motivation is crave for adoration I like to think that Haira did not really get along with other people and that left her insecure, craving prople's validation. When she found the gem and discovered the other facets to her power, she decided to use it to her advantage. After seeing the way people's reactions changed towards her brcause of her tea, she desired for others to adore her. The insecurity of being an outcast turned into a deep rooted fear which only spurred her to continue brainwashing people with her tea so that she could run away from her fears. The more she used the gem, the more her mindset changed. Instead of putting in the effort to get people to hsve good opinions of her manually, she started using the tea to control everyone's thoughts and opinions on her. The people never saw/see it coming because Haira was always secretive of her true intentions
"... even visitors never leave once they've had a cup of nice warm tea..." Me: She’s mind controlling people with the tea "But this tea has a sinister side" Me: She’s friggin mind controlling people with the tea "The tea brainwashes people" Me: Freaking CALLED IT! IDK I consume too much fantasy with twist villains I guess.

Since their royal they r probably also well known so when it got out that pariah didn't have magic everyone ended up finding out and that got her known as a disgrace and got kicked out of there community! I like to think that Haira's motivation is crave for adoration
I like to think that Haira did not really get along with other people and that left her insecure, craving prople's validation. When she found the gem and discovered the other facets to her power, she decided to use it to her advantage. After seeing the way people's reactions changed towards her brcause of her tea, she desired for others to adore her. The insecurity of being an outcast turned into a deep rooted fear which only spurred her to continue brainwashing people with her tea so that she could run away from her fears. The more she used the gem, the more her mindset changed. Instead of putting in the effort to get people to hsve good opinions of her manually, she started using the tea to control everyone's thoughts and opinions on her. The people never saw/see it coming because Haira was always secretive of her true intentions
