  • Getting off coarse & having to negotiate a mountain summit in fading light was not what we had in mind on this outing. We still managed to enjoy our day even though it certainly did test our stamina, along with a wind chill factor which made for even more of a challenge. This is one we will return to another day, maybe springtime to have a more gentle walk & record what I intended to on this outing, but failed due to the conditions & circumstances we were faced with.

We did this walk back in the summer except we stayed on the Stwlan Dam side of Moelwyn Mawr and went round to Rhosydd. We also flew our drones above the dam and went to look out over Porthmadoc between the Moelwyns. Strange coincidences. Thanks for sharing Mark.

I think that was our plan to John, but we went wrong, which I am putting down to the conditions 😀..thats my excuse anyway 😂. We will be doing this again this year so hopefully experience what you saw. Thanks for watching & your interaction John, much appreciated 👍🙂

Good to see you out and about on a winters day, i can understand it's hard work vlogging. I love Cwmorthin so it was interesting to see where you got to

Hi Mark, stunning views and drone footage there mate, I expect nothing less from your videos, on a nicer day I'm sure you would get some stunning images. I measure my success by vlog, each vlog I try and improve, don't get me wrong I love the interaction with others like yourself, but I am happy plodding along doing my own thing and if people want to join me then all good, if not then that's all good too. Great chat mate look forward to the next one.

I am very surprised you got lost on Moelwyn Mawr? it is only a Noth way out( any where else is sortof difficult) to Rhosydd quarry (I think that's the name?) then down to Cwmorthin.

We weren’t planning on going up Moelwyn Mawr, but doing a circular route around the back of the dam. Turned out we were on the Clwydian way so had to climb the difficult route up & over. It was far easier the route down as in a gentle gradient compared to the climb. All fun though in the end.🤦‍♂🥴👍
