I love how you delicately scrub every inch with such care and respect. No talking makes the scrubbing sound so peaceful and relaxing. I enjoy your work more than any other. Next spring, I'm going to start cleaning headstones. Thank you for what you do.
Thank you! All the stones in this video were ancestors except 1. I can’t wait until spring! lol his year is going to be big for me! Thank for watching!
I like your method of cleaning because it's more relatable. Other grave cleaning videos are using that expensive sprays that I could never afford to buy, let alone so much off. This one looks like a method I could actually do. Thanks for this.
The expensive sprays are D2 and Wet and forget which do not harm the gravestones and are approved by Arlington Cemetary and Veterans groups. Other house hold cleaners can stain or cause the stone to age really bad. If you don't clean a grave properly, dont do it!
still my favorite. would like to see more like these! and also see updates, and time frames in about how long it takes stones to typically come back "white" or most staining come off. Im a terminal cancer patient. Watching everyone's techniques different for sure and some not so up to par. I like what you do.
Absolutely! And in the case that family cannot be located you can get permission from the cemetery. In the case of this video many of these stones belong to my ancestors.
I love to watch you clean stones. I love the sound of the brush strokes on the stone and the fresh new look when finished. Like you said they are not always pretty by clean. God bless.
I enjoyed watching this! more videos like this please, really like the sound of the brush and the d2 being sprayed on. It appears scrubbing with a circular motion works well..
Have you thought about cleaning with D2 and rinising with water? From my experience, you’d get a lot further with the D2. Great job though and yes, it’s addicting.
I used to clean with only D/2… but why would I want to apply d/2 to a stone, rub it around, then rinse it off? By using Orvus paste I remove the heavy growth and soiling then rinse and apply D/2. The thing with D/2 is that the longer you leave it on the stone the more it will work. If it rains it reactivates and works more… so spraying D/2 on the stone just to rinse it off is a waste. And Orvus paste is cheap
@@Headstoneman It still works after you rinse it. Plus you can lightly mist it if you want to. But the first rain will rinse it. Where do you get that soap though? I am open to try different things depending on conditions and stone type, etc....
On that note… I just don’t see how it makes sense to apply D/2 just to scrub it and rinse it off… seems like a waste of the product when you could really just spray it on and leave it… dwell time is key with D/2. That’s why I do the washing with something much cheaper and effective then spray with D/2 for maximum dwell time afterwards
I believe the Kendrick family had a bit of money… however the stones are quite plain so I’m sure they weren’t all that expensive compared to most others
Ok, so you through me off with that D2 container since I know you clean first with Orvus then D2 to finish up. So my question is, is the D2 container always filled with water or do you really pour D2 on from this size container? Some times, all the time...never?
Be nice with the little dialogue about what you are doing and why and getting permission from the cemetery in order to do that but they're looking good good job
This video was just a compilation of scrubbing and such… each of the stones in this video are featured in other videos… I just was playing around this winter trying to make some content.
I’m an EMT and I worry about your hands and long term exposure to chemicals, or infections leading to cellulitis from cuts. Please wear some nitrile or chemical resistant gloves hon. We want to protect you at all costs so we can see more of your great work. ❤
This can say Jan 30,2022- but you’re not in a Michigan cemetery -snow on the ground with blizzard predicted this week. (although wearing shorts year round 🤪)……

Thank you! Just be sure to do your research and always get permission!
I love the scrubbing and no talking.
That’s a very polite way to tell me to shut up! 🤣
No. Not at all. It’s a thank you for helping me sleep. 🙏🏾✌️
@@rf4341 hahahaha you’re welcome!
This should become a trend! Doing these people and their families a service while making content for viewers to enjoy
I believe it already is a trend! Just not very widely known
Great job! Those old stones are loving you! Stay safe and healthy out there! Thank you for sharing a part of your day with us!

That’s showing respect
Wonderful job young man(I'm 77), bless you!😇
Thank you!
Love this and you're honoring the dead
Many of the headstones in this video are those of my ancestors. Quite a few of them I travelled over 1000 miles to take care of.
I enjoyed watching this! more videos like this please, really like the sound of the brush and the d2 being sprayed on. It appears scrubbing with a circular motion works well..
Yea… circular… up and down… side to side… doesn’t much matter
I wish there were more people like you in the world from Australia sydney
Thank you! I do too!
That’s one helluva difference you make ! Keep up the good work
Thank you! I’m getting cabin fever a little bit! Can’t wait til spring!
This is very satisfying to watch.
Thank you!
Really nice work! New subscriber ❤
Awesome! Thank you!
Very satisfying 👍🇺🇸
Thanks man! Just an idea I had!
Excellent!!!
Thank you!
Awesome as always Cuz
Thank you!
What are you using in the water to clean the headstones? Sure is making a big difference.....
First I scrub with a mixture of Orvus paste and water. Then I rinse with clean water and treat with D/2 biological solution
The people beneath those stones are saying "Ah! That feels so good!"
Love this vid
Thank you! Please share it!
Great work
Very peaceful n respectful ❤❤❤
That product your using is brilliant
Seems almost effortless
What is it your using to get those stains off?😊
D/2 biological solution
Did you use Orvus Soap alone, or did you give 5hem a coat of D2 after that?
Orvus soap, rinse then D/2

I got goosebumps after a while😂
Stones look great, what product do you use? I use D-2 but it is so expensive.
It’s not too expensive if you use it right
Have some of these already had D2 applied?
Some of them I did apply d/2 before cleaning… I knew I wouldn’t be able to come back to them again so I pre soaked them
W.L. Jones must've been well-to-do for his time to be able to afford white marble headstones for his family's graves.
I believe the Kendrick family had a bit of money… however the stones are quite plain so I’m sure they weren’t all that expensive compared to most others

I use my old D/2 containers for water.
@@Headstoneman I thought so, but am not always so sure...now I do! Thanks
Do you know what the name is for the cap often found on old tombstones is called? It's often broken off by vandels?
Yes it is called a finial. Just like the piece on a hand rail baluster
@@Headstoneman thank you
What do you use to clean thrm?
I use a mixture of Orvus paste and water to prewash them then treat them with D/2 biological solution.
That HAS to be D2 in the Home Depot bucket!?
It’s not… it’s Orvus paste and water. D/2 is in the sprayer
What are you using to clean it with ?
A mixture of Orvus paste and water, then rinse and treat with D/2 biological solution.
Have you tried D2?
Yup! That’s what I use
How do you decide what head stones your gonna do that day
Pretty much everything in this video was family headstones. I took a trip to Louisiana to clean ancestral headstones in October.
watch out for the overspray!
Doesn’t bother me too much.
Sounds like me in the shower
Hahahahaha

Nothing I use is harmful. And I don’t really worry about cuts much. Been getting cuts all my life.

This is a compilation of videos from my trip to Louisiana.
Can you please scrub in circles
No, I do things the way I like to do them. The direction of scrubbing makes no difference
No history? What's the point
It was an idea I had… you can check out my other videos for the history
