- Hot Wheels Charlie’s Angels Super Van Restomod - Recently I restored a Hot Wheels Paramedic Super Van and in the video mentioned that I have several of the Super Van castings laying around. Looking through my decals, I found a set of Second Chance Redlines Charlie’s Angels van decals. All I can figure is that Second Chance had the old Corgi casting in mind when they designed these decals. I hope you like how this turned out! #hotwheels #charliesangels #supervan #corgi

Awesome custom Jim! I have the Corgi Charlie's Angels van in my collection and your custom looks like a welcomed fresh take on the OG. The colors are perfect and Redline Real Riders make it even better! 👊❤
Thanks Ricobobe!
Outstanding work Jim, truly magnificent!! Very Very cool 😎.
Thanks Gary! I'm really happy with how shiny it is lol
I watched some Charlie's angels as a kid. Probably reruns being a 77 baby. Build looks awesome
Thanks Neil (sheesh...a '77 baby...just a darn kid lol)
@@JimSilva-SilvaDiecastCustoms I don't feel it lol
Turned out great Jim!!! Loved the show as a kid
Thanks Pete!
Like the way it came out! I remember Charlie's Angels but wasn't as into Bosley as you guys were the angels. If I remember correctly they 'showed' Charlie once. I liked Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith but was indifferent to Farrah, likely caused all the guys were drooling over her. Thanks for the membership only access.
Thanks! I'm really happy with how it looks! Ahhhh...I always drooled more over Jaclyn Smith than Farrah lol...and I look somewhat like Bosley these days lol. I'm going to try to do the early access to videos for members when it's possible (this one is about a day early) but sometimes I cut it pretty close to the deadline lol
Jaclyn #1, all others #2 😁
@@BrianMcKnight68 seems you, Jim and Santa all have the same taste 🙂 but I remember back East all the guys were drooling fools for Farrah
Of course it's cool Jim their my lovely ladies!! The Angles!! Lol 😆
LOL they're not your Angels Eddie, they're our Angels LOL
😂😂😂😂
Love this color scheme! Charlie and his Angels would be proud! By the way, Cheryl Ladd was always my favorite!
Regular van , next build , regular pink , not the pink pink .
Jim get out of that bar !
🤔🤔
Awesome work.
Of course it’s cool .
I had a few big posters when I was a kid of each of those angles on my wall .
Super cool finish .
Mike
Thanks Mike! You'll be seeing that same pink as on the roof on my upcoming Paint it Pink build. Gotta love the Color Spot paints!
@@JimSilva-SilvaDiecastCustoms Yes 👍
Jim that’s a good 👍🏾 looking van thanks 🙏🏽 for all you do and what you do for the community. Super Vans are one of my favorite castings I have a few I’m gonna restore myself. I’m actually working on one from my childhood.
Thanks so much! The Super Van casting is wonderful to work with!
I observe your livery would've worked as well for Corgi (which is I think a MATTEL property now) as theirs did. I think this would've worked for the October build. If there was any show that raised awareness of breasts for straight men in the 70's it was Charlie's Angels. Despite the famous Farrah Fawcett poster, I was more partial to Jacklyn Smith and Kate Jackson. I married a woman both smart and beautiful as any of those angels anyway! Have fun with your toys!
"If there was any show that raised awareness"...I'm really trying to avoid making a joke that immediately came to mind when I read that lol It really would have worked for the Paint it Pink build, but the build truly intended for that event came together well...fortunately :) It had a little more body work involved and does, much like this build, use a casting that I'm particularly fond of :) Thanks so much!
The back of the casting looked to be really rough! I absolutely love the white and pink combo! I don't know that you could have done this better, man! It came out looking fantastic, Jim! As a kid, I had that Farrah Fawcett poster on my wall, next to a Catherine Bach poster where she was rockin' the Daisy Dukes. lol. I think I had a Lynda Carter Wonder Woman too.
Thanks so much Loston! I'm really happy with how the colors worked out, especially with the decals. Lynda Carter (sigh) lol
Hot. Wheels. Charlie s. Angels. Super. Van. Restomod. Corgi Tribute
Thanks so much Kenny for all the comments!
Beautiful work Jim. Nice crisp lines and the whole theme really came together. I’ve always had good luck with second chance decals too. Another great video.
The Second Chance decals are probably the best, or at least tied for the best, of any I've used...especially when it comes to how easily they soak off the backing paper and hold up during application. They're very similar to the decal paper I use for the decals I print for myself...and I've used some terrible papers along the way before the paper I use now lol. Thanks so much!
I’m glad you did this. I have those decals and assumed I would just paint the whole van pink….now I’m questioning that. I think you’re probably right about not being able to see that bottom stripe 🤔. This one turned out great, Jim!
Thanks Brian! I think if you go with the whole van being pink, you have to be very careful about the pink you use. This one wouldn't have worked well with the stripe. Thanks so much!
Looks great! Remember the series well. I would think the bigger issue with the decal is the pinks not matching well and you could see the stripe… and not in the good way. Love the final result, thanks!
You're right about the color mismatch - before I made the final decision on paint, I sprayed a white plastic spoon and compared it to the decal color...and it was just not enough of an offsetting color, nor was it a match...it was in that awkward in-between range, so white seemed like the best choice and I couldn't be any happier with the result. Thanks!
Awesome 👍😎
Thanks Dane!
Holy cow! What a transformation from the heavily playworn start! Beautiful work, Jim!
Thanks Jimmy!
You brought back a lot of memories with this build.
The Charlie’s Angles Van came out awesome 😎
Thanks Armando! It brought back a lot of memories for me too!
glamour indeed. :) I only barely remember watching that series, as my parents tended to have other ideas of what to watch. and I never had a TV of my own, or a room of my own, or anything. :P
anyway, came out great, interesting look. someone at Second Chance must be a fan, too. :)
Ahhhhh those darn parents anyway lololol Thanks Lothar!
Charlie's Angels! I remember the reruns in UK as, probably, a teenager!
The van looks good - even in the pink! Terrific restoration to one that should have been!
Thanks so much! I'm really happy with the choice to go white with the pink roof!
Sweet Van Jim!
Thanks Ron!
Digging the Charlie's Angels van, Jim.
I remember them well, even Cheryl Ladd and Kate Jackson, too.
Thanks Uri! Fond memories huh? 🤣
Great build, Jim. I remember Charlie's Angels and the Farrah Fawcet and Jacqueline Smith posters.
Thanks Skip! You don't have those posters up on the wall of your work area do you? lol
I remember the show matey.. The van came out awesome 👍 Thanks for sharing.. cheers
Thanks Frank!
Wow this turned out awesome! Definitely makes me want to start my Goonies van I've had in my head for a while
Thanks so much! You should start the Goonies van! Even if you don't have the time at the moment to get it all the way done, starting it will get you that much closer!
Another beautiful build is always there Jim keep up the good work have a good one and God bless my wife says hi giggles
Thanks JC! I just sent an Instagram message to you a few minutes ago - please check it when you get a chance. Hope you and your wife have a wonderful week!
The Corgi van you show at the start is the larger scale (1:43?) - they made those vans in that size as well as 1:64, and a lot of the liveries are duplicated between them, so Superman, Spiderman etc
Yep...I just grabbed a Corgi pic (was too lazy to actually grab the old catalog that around here). They did some fun stuff!
Great job again!
Good thing Corgi didn't choose this color combi back then, otherwise your cool idea would just be a copy.
According to your laughter and the short pause after it: Which was your favorite angel? ;-)
Thanks so much Fritz! Ahhhhh...that's easy, Jaclyn Smith was my favorite.
@@JimSilva-SilvaDiecastCustoms Your welcome. Interesting that we each had our eye on a brunette...for me it was Kate Jackson.
Awesome Job, Jim …🔥🔥🔥🔥
Very nice sir! One of my favorite castings that I do a Super Van Sunday for each week...
Thanks! The Super Van casting is a great casting to work with...there's so much potential there.
