The rifle wasn't visible initially but there are report of people noticing a man on a roof. But there were secret service and citizens on other roofs. I'm curious to know how long it took him to setup and how long he had been looking down the scope. Did he plant the rifle day the day before? Or did he climb up there with it? How close were secret service to him? Did one of the secret service snipers notice him going on the roof in the time leading up to this?

A witness being interviewed by a BBC reporter was saying that he saw the man climbing the roof and attempted to alert police and secret service. To which he was ignored. He also asked why there were people on a bunch of roofs nearby, but not that one. The clip I saw of it was being aired on FOX.
