There were also people review bombing my office and consulting service with these claims to the point where I couldn't keep up and realized that the best course of action would be to just take down my listing. Some people found old collaborations and videos where I was a speaker at panels and posted ironic comments like "I'm surprised he didn't shoot up the audience," but there was no further indication whatsoever that the comment was intended to be satire, which prompted past business partners to reach out for an explanation. I have even been approached in-person at conventions by Doug's fans pointing and yelling "don't shoot me with your gun," causing many people in the vicinity to anxiously look over at me in concern."
@dougdougtrugtrug Thank you. That's really sad tho. That it had such a big negative effect on his private life. Some of these people probably weren't even trying to do wrong, but especially the review bombers are unfunny af. But it's realy nice to see that the dougdoug community is just respecting that, because while we are jokesters and goofy goobers through and through, we know when you shouldn't make a joke and be respectful.
