Richard Chamberlain and Raymond Massey don the surgical scrubs first made famous by the film team of Lew Ayres and Lionel Barrymore for the equally successful 1960s TV incarnation. Richard Chamberlain’s star ascended quickly, as the show swept him from relative unknown to full-on teen idol.

I worked in a pediatric rehab hospital before seatbelts were mandatory and carseats even existed. This really was what you knew was coming before holidays and summers, yet there was so much outcry with each new imposition of safety mandates.
Some relatives of mine died because of the lack of seat belts and steering wheels made of steel

Yes, indeed. In addition, the nurses' well-ironed garments, white stockings, and polished shoes. Nowadays, they're wearing loose-fitting scrubs in a variety of colors. I remember a time when they wore below-the-knee white uniforms and crown-like caps, like the nuns in my parochial school I attended years ago. The old uniform displayed a professional sense of dignity and respect, which is no longer looked upon anymore as we speak :-(

Raymond Massey was a good character actor, but he's no Lionel Barrymore. Playing Gillespie, he comes off as being way too nice and proper and well-mannered. The Gillespie I know and love was crotchety, irascible, and basically acted like a jerk just for the sake of it.
It's a gay reunion Richard Chamberlain and Dick Sargent.
