@@ukchub6633 Please don’t comment negatively before you know the actual history. The Tadau Kaamatan festival first started at the Sabah/North Borneo state level in 1956, even before Sabah was a part of Malaysia (Sabah joined to form Malaysia later in 1963). The 1st state level Sabah/North Borneo Unduk Ngadau was held in 1960. So no, this Tadau Kaamatan or Pesta Kaamatan isn’t just made up for tourism, but a yearly celebration for all the indigenous tribes of Sabah (mainly KDMR) to come together & be thankful for a good harvest. Eventually in years to come, this celebration welcomed anyone from anywhere around the world to come and be part of the thanksgiving. Even if there were no tourists at all, the Pesta Kaamatan will continue as usual because it’s original & main purpose is for us, the people of Sabah to never forget our roots, traditions, traditional clothes, food & our languages, no matter how modern the world gets.
@@ukchub6633 I’m surprised that you as a half Iban seem not to know about the Sarawakian culture & traditions, which is still very well preserved right until this day & that Hari Gawai & Pesta Kaamatan celebrations are definitely NOT “just made up” for tourism.

The racial component of Sabah & Sarawak are generally Dayak, Chinese & Malay as compared to Malay, Chinese and Indians in West M’sia. If Indians are small in number in Sabah, they’re far lesser in Sarawak. That is why Sarawak gov. decided not to give Deepavali a public holiday (but Good Friday is a public holiday in both since 2/3 of Christians in M’sia resides there). The Indonesian side - Kalimantan - has roughly a couple of hundreds of Dayak ethnics. You both should do Kalimantan one day. 😀
@@nutzhazel Sure, as that may be true, what im saying is, the divide between races is the result of the racial politics that is being practise in west malaysia.
@@kingkong6729 It's the people themselves who wants the division isn't it? Each major races wants their own schools and curriculum, religions and places of worship, cultural practices, food centres, even housing areas. Can you imagine if other minor races in Malaysia are enforced to use a standard Malay personal name in the name of unity just like how Indonesia been doing, there will be an uproar! Total chaos! Civil wars even! Lol even to put all kids together in one school already opposed by Chinese and Indians, and you want to blame it on the government? And what is it with the minority races here in Peninsular hating the religion of Islam? Did they not know that Tanah Melayu or Malaysia had been Muslim land for centuries when they immigrate here??? Are they too hateful deep in their heart to easily fall into the western medias Islamophobic propaganda? That's why there's division.

hey i saw you yesterday.. 😂 😂
Welcome to Sabah. Aramaiti
East Malaysia is how the rest of Peninsular should be, but politician purposely divide us in West Msia.
Not many local tribes in Peninsular, except more races from immigrants who brought their own culture into Peninsular 💁♀️
@@nutzhazel, the Orang Asli have many tribes too. It’s just that each tribe is very small in number and they hardly get featured in the media…
@@bungaialoevera Whether they are featured or not, the op was talking about unity. Any examples of native tribes unity here in Peninsular?
I know steve feeling dizzy in here , i can see from his face ahahha
