    4 weeks is tooo long. The strike is affecting economy snd peoples lives. They need mediation to fix it. Why do canadians have to suffer ? This strike affects millions of people. I wish there were better ways to do this without people losing money and now christmas is ruined for many....

    “Stay out of it. Don’t interfere. Don’t legislate these workers back to work. Don’t put in place 107 (binding arbitration). Let the workers negotiate a fair contract,” Singh told a scrum with media at the Delta Hotel, before heading to a rally at the nearby Canada Post building on Water Street.
    “I want to also put this on record for Justin Trudeau: If you bring back-to-work legislation, even if it’s a confidence vote, I will be voting against it, my team will be voting against it, because we oppose back-to-work legislation, we’re always going to defend workers.”

    The govt stepping in is a blessing for the 55000 postal workers. Sure the Union will not admit this but this saves those 55000 workers from losing their homes and not being able to put food on the table should this strike go on. It has already been a month and strike pay is not nearly enough to live on, so each worker is about $5000 behind right now! Canada Post is not going to give in to the Unions unreasonable demands. Yes thats right, UNREASONABLE demands! And I do not blame them! How dare this %$#@ Union hold our postal system HOSTAGE like this at the busiest time of the year! Had this strike gone on longer there is no question of the catastrofic results it would have had on the 55000 workers and the Union would have been fully responsible for it!!! About selling goods tax free: I have a question: we in Canada we have not use pennies for number of years, however, let alone corner stores to adjust to zero and five cents , even big brand name retailers did not. The stores do rounds to their liking to charge customers. I am not very good, in math or economics, yet what I know, those pennies do make a difference on business concerns.
    What I am trying to say tax free for 2 months, who actually going to benefit the most? How fast they going to adjust to it? I have a feeling, some people will make lots of money, yet near future revenue will be impacted.

    • @madchemist126
      @madchemist126 2 дня назад +3

      ...It's obvious you aren't good at either.
      Only transactions paid in cash are rounded.
      Ending in 1,2 = round down
      Ending in 3,4 = round up.
      This is the standard that was enacted when they eliminated the penny.
      Pay via electronic means (credit / debit) = no rounding.
      ~20% of all purchases were made in Cash in 2023
      ~ this accounted for only 11% of the total value of all purchases.
      80% of all purchases and 89% of the value of total purchases involve no rounding at all.
