Mam ur demonstration is very interesting and nice to learn for beginners like me, but pls mention what u have done for the rice + tur dal + pepper + cumin mix, how to prepare this mixture ? What should we soak / grind?? Also one sincere suggestion : pls do not use platic plates or bowls to serve hot food as it is unhealthy, many ppl follow ur cookery shows and u r inspiring people to cook many great recipes made only by moms and grandmas at home, if u use stainless steel vessels, it would be good for viewers to follow your practices, thank you 👍☺️

Not necessary it should be ground to paste it can be grounded into dry mixture n can be added n it gives the same aroma. It is done like this in Karnataka.

Hi Mam, how r u?? one request for me.... raw rice has to be soaked in a water?? or else we need to sprinkle the water on it ??? or else we need to roast raw rice , jeera, toor dhal and pepper together and grind well like ravai????
Another great recipe, I have one suggestion which my mother-in-law shared with me. Instead of griding the urad dhal, soak the dhal for 2 hours (can add up to 1 cup depending upon personal preference, good protein) then rinse and drain in a colander. Once the mustard seeds and chillies are roasted, add curry leaves, then add the drained urad dhal and sauté for 3 to four minutes. Then follow the rest of the recipe as you are doing. This way don't have to add too much coconut but it will taste equally good.

Coconut oil is best for health instead of sunola or safola. Then it may not be good to mix two oils at a time when we are using it because their density is different and boiling points are different. Better use them at various times. Mixing and heating is not good for health.

...The recipe is not very clear...she says, 1/4 tumbler or 1/4 karandi udad dal, there is huge difference in qty if tumbler or karandi...it would be really nice if the ingredients are mentioned along with their quantities

In this pidi kozhukattai or pidi uppuma recipe, in the beginning, just voice is explaing wrongly that raw rice has to be soaked, i guess it is not, raw rice , toordhal 2 spoons, 1/4 t.spoon pepper ,jeeragam , all should be grinded in the mixi like little rava consistency (without wet). It is a dry one, whereas head shall which is soaked and grind it wet
