HI like your explanation. Question though, how do you get those icons on it, like an icon for contacts etc like you have. I can't find that how to put in my phone too?
like you, when you flip it open, you have all kind of pictograms with options, I don't have that. THanks for helping out!
Sorry for the slow reply.
To select how the apps menu is shown on the screen, select Menu > Settings > System > Main menu view and select 3x3 to see 9 apps in the menu at the same time or 1x1 to see 1 app at a time. If you select 1x1, scroll up or down to move between the apps.

@@techleveller Just imagine that some people have only ever used a landline and are now confronted with this technology..What we need is . . . . how this thing opens - what are these symbols . . . . what are they called . . . .what do they do etc etc I've had this phone for 4 months and can't use it Every symbol needs it's own video and explanation/demonstration..Thank you for replying - greatly appreciated.

I mean I hate having to type one number and then use the arrow keys and its so much slower than hitting the same button over and over again for the right letter
Just hit the same key and it will cycle through the available letters and numbers and in some cases symbols 👌
It sounds like you you need to turn off predictive text. Look in the settings
How do you type a capital in the middle of a sentence?
Just keep pressing the keypad till the caps lock comes on
The bottom right button turns the caps lock on
But nothing anywhere describes how to get a newline, so the text ends up being one long paragraph.

Yes, Navigate to Settings > System > Languages & input > Virtual keyboard > Gboard > Text correction
