I bought a house and moved to Werribee from Oakleigh. It took me about 2 years before it felt like home but I have grown to love it here, it has a lot of great aspects, a few not so great ones but they are minor.
Hi, thanks for your comment!😃 I’m curious, what do you think are the downsides of living in Werribee compared to Oakleigh? I’ve never lived in Oakleigh, so I’m wondering how the vibe might be different.
@@MelbWestExplorer Werribee is just a lower socioeconomic class of people. It's not as well serviced by many types of shops, it's often easier to just pay for delivery than to take the time to drive to somewhere like Clayton to buy something. It can often feel like living in a completely different city to your friends who live on the east side. When I go back to Oakleigh it does feel so busy compared to Werribee, not in a good way. I don't regret moving to Werribee at the end of the day. It has a lot of good things about it too.
@@pancake7289 Thanks for sharing this. I bought a 1br unit in Carnegie last year but have opted to remain in Sunshine North (been here 5 years). Same to you- living in the lower socioeconomic area may actually be better overall. Seems much quieter and affordable. Comparative affordability in the South East from CBD seems to be Dandenong distance or further. Ample open walking tracks, green spaces near Sunshine. Spacious too (perhaps due to lower population density)? Carnegie does also, but the high pedestrian traffic along the two lane Merri Trail makes me wonder how busy and cramped other public spaces feel. Is road traffic considerably worse in and around Oakleigh compared to what you've experienced in the Western suburbs?
I feel like people have become more rushed and reckless on the roads since COVID. Maybe there are too many new immigrants who haven't fully adapted to Australia's road rules, or the housing crisis and inflation might be affecting people's mental state, too. So it might be a good idea to have strict law enforcement on the roads.
I lived there for 32 years and moved down to the South West coast when I retired. It had a country town feel to it in the early days, I think we had 1 pizza shop open in the evening. It has quite a buzz about it now and a lot more going on but got too built up and congested as we got older.
great video:) i used to live in werribee and also the wyndham area, we moved to tasmania in 2013, its a completely different lifestyle here. id love to come back home to werribee at some time, theres so much more to do than here in launceston. ive just subscribed to your channel, nice to be onboard :)
I’m glad you enjoyed the video! It’s great to hear from someone who’s lived in Wyndham. Since you moved in 2013, the population has grown a lot, so things might be a bit different from what you remember. Tasmania sounds like a peaceful change of pace. Thanks for subscribing-happy to have you onboard!
Thanks for this cheerful, quality video exploring Werribee. I'm not sure if you touched on the other positive of Werribee being that it is roughly half way between Melbourne and Geelong. As well as Melton. (Eventually in time, I'm sure road travel there will improved). I.e a widening or upgrade of Ballan rd.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video.😀 I actually take day trips to Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula quite often-more than I visit the city. Living in the outer west means we frequently head to Torquay and Anglesea to enjoy the sea, which is a fantastic perk.
Thank you for your video. You probably should also talk about a pocket of Werribee south of Princes hwy that initially was populated by many Italian immigrants. Some houses there are up to a million and over.
Thanks for the info! I've noticed that the neighborhoods along Wattle Ave have such beautiful, well-maintained front gardens. I didn’t know it was originally populated by Italian immigrants.
we have got two indoor pools in Werribee one at the plaza and one up in windervale get outdoor pools in the main street of Werribee that also gets flooded if you go where the Werribee River is behind outdoor pools you will see a outdoor pools inside the river
that little brown building in the main street is the first place station in Werribee on the corner and it's only dirty of the trees in the car park and the ramp a year about 100 metres away from the Werribee River what floods all the shops from the train station to hundred Jacks
I would recommend newcomers stay in areas with multiple public transport options like trams, buses, V/Line, and Metro. These are often in inner suburbs with walkable, traditional shopping streets offering a variety of shops and amenities. Renting a house might be a bit pricey, but if you're looking for something more budget-friendly, check out apartments and units.
Werribee..great place to live to bring up children . Schools everywhere shopping centres every where and lovely walks near river area and lots of other attractions. Lots of greenery and well kept. Don’t have to take out massive loans from banks and have to live in crappy old houses that cost a fortune on the other side of town. Lived here for a long time so was able to pay off the house quickly while the stuck up bozos on the other side are still paying off their dumbass huge mortgage whilst living in their rundown home which is half renovated. We continuously travel and live well …that’s the benefit of not buying in stuck up bozo suburbs.
Yeah, I can see how it might feel a bit trapped for those who don’t drive or have a second car for family members, especially in those new estates with limited public transport.
Thanks so much for being the first to comment! I really appreciate your support. Yes, Werribee is a bit far from the CBD, but the distance is fine. It’s the traffic during peak hours that’s a pain, and it feels like a lot of people drive pretty recklessly nowadays.
I have lived in Hoppers but not in Werribee. However, visit Werribee alot (I now live in Point Cook). I think Werribee has more variety (as shown in this video with the 5 different 'feels'), Hoppers probably has more of the 'average' type areas, and very few (if any) new areas, but most of the area can be quite far from the train station as the whole suburb is north of the railway line. If I had to pick, I'd probably go for Werribee
I was actually watching Breaking Bad Season 4 when I read your comment. I'm curious, what makes you feel that Werribee is a dump? I'd love to hear your perspective.

I like how you included the raw audio from some of the footage.
Thanks for the feedback! I’ll try to include more raw audio in my next videos.
Very good video and what makes it even more real is your actual voice. You are a human 🙂yeah!!! Thank you for the VDO
Thank you!😀I was worried that people might dislike my English accent, but I didn't realize how much people actually don't like AI voices!
Lovely presentation style. Thanks.
Thank you!😄
Werribee used to remind me of school excursions, today I think of that area as having the strictest road law enforcement, especially Princes Freeway.

theres road law enforcement around? ive never seen them and im driving a hoon car.
I love this channel, just found it
Thank you!😃 I’m quite curious about the southeast and would love to explore it more.
Thanks for your review. Finally Werribee!🎉
Thanks for your comment! Is there any suburb you're particularly interested in?

Have they improve, bus and Train stations ?

Thanks
That's My Werribee Place To Become A Myanmar Secret
werribee station was slated for a redevelopment that was supposed to start a year ago, i just want them to go back to an overpass
Yes. I checked online and saw that the redevelpment was supposed to happen already, but it seems like nothing has happened yet.
@@MelbWestExplorer im not surprised tbh around here they say theyll do something and then the evidence of it vanishes off the internet
Which area of werribee should we consider buying for family please advise $500k to $580 ? Your response is appreciated in this challenging time.
If you hate us whites then stay out
Videos are better using your real voice! You speak well.
Thank you!😀
Can you recommend some suburbs for new immigrants who don't want to drive? Maybe a top 5 suburbs for newcomers type video?
Hi, thanks for your comment! I think a video about suburbs for newcomers is a great idea. I’ll definitely try to make one like that.

Werribee ain't too bad, but too far from the CBD
Dandenong and Frankston are even further away from the CBD than Werribee.

It used to be very affordable to live in Werribee...not any more...
Yeah, now with the housing crisis, it's tough for a lot of people.
A lot better value that the other side of town but yes prices have sure gone up
