    Wow, give you a few days to tinker and you made a pokey rally car into a rocket! I am sure it will continue to get faster over the next few weeks though! Looking forward to seeing what you can make it do. I am also glad you are in the open class! LOL! I am still on the fence between brushed and brushless myself. I guess I have to finish building the chassis first and then sort that out! Best of luck Brice and hoping to can beat out everyone in the open class!

    Thanks for being open about your mods and my original guess was 80mph. Now I am thinking triple digits.

    That Gran Turismo (4 or 5?) opening 😎. Wish I could participate in this challenge too but look forward to following yours and others progress 👍

    Wow Brice, that thing is a missile already! But those hits into the curbs are nasty, losing wheels looks so easy to do at those speeds! Definitely faster than it's designed to go! I haven't even started my mods yet but thanks for all the great info about your experience with this chassis. Baby steps is a really good approach to this challenge. I'm amazed how fast you are going already - good luck going forward! 😎👊👍

    Cant wait to see you guys in the open class kill this speed run. It will be fun to see what this chassis can handle and produce!

      It's getting there. I wouldn't be surprised if someone gets to 100mph. That would be pretty crazy.

    Brice, I love your look on these challenges, brother! You said it better than I could articulate it myself. Baby steps are the key. Understand the slow chassis, make it stable, then progressively work toward increasing speed. No doubt you'll crush it again this year. I'm so happy to see you back!

      @jack-o-trades  4 месяца назад +1

      Thanks for the kind words. It's great to be back. tweaking on the car and getting some crazy crashes...I mean runs in. It will be interesting to see how the open class plays out. I think the brushless are going to be the ones to watch and will be much closer to the open class than expected. I 'm tying to keep it lower key this year working with what I got instead of throwing a bunch of parts/motors at it. Hopefully leveraging what I learned last year from the TT-02.

    Man that thing can bounce and roll, i can see this chassis being more of a handfull than the TT-02/01. Hopefully i can keep mine in one piece 🤔😂

    and you were giving me grief about crashing my trucks?! :) Nice to see you back on here racing those cars! and it was great seeing you and the family

      Thanks. It was an awesome trip getting to hang out with the family for a bit.
      These are speed runs! Not much you can do about crashes. And...I can always make new parts. It's a little different with your trucks. Thanks for checking out the video.

    Nice video. Pleased to see your mods, I’ve got all the same ones already lined up. Interesting about the srx shocks, I didn’t think of that. I’ve got m class aluminium ones for mine.

    That 1st casualty crash really hurt my tamiya body sensibilities. 🤣 I am trying to learn from your set up. This is rad and you have some great speeds going.. Thanks for the great info! Cheers

    I fitted the TL01 speed gears, touring car wheels and a 23t pinion today with the stock torque tuned motor and it was considerably quicker. The motor got pretty hot pretty quickly though.

    • @jack-o-trades
      @jack-o-trades  4 месяца назад +1

      Yeah, I'm not surprised. the brushed motors do not like speed run and tend to get hot quickly. You'll want to limit how much driving you do with them and let them cool down. Were you running a LiPo or Nimh?

      I was running a 2s 5200mah 50c battery.
      I'm definitely just doing a limited number of runs at a time. Once I'm happy that it's running straight I'll either go for a 12t brushed motor, or maybe a brushless system that would pair up nicely with that battery size.

    Awesome 🤩 Good Result. Do you mean that the crash cause about the drive shaft is too short and jumps out at higher speed?

    • @jack-o-trades
      @jack-o-trades  4 месяца назад +1

      No, I sheared off the outdrives at the wheels. I didn’t have spare parts so figured out how to make the TT-02 driveshafts work. I hope that answers your question.

    I'm really struggling with stability on mine. Not even paying 25 mph and the thing just flips over in a straight line. Might need to change m reciever to a non gyro

      @jack-o-trades  4 месяца назад +1

      Can you explain what’s going on and what your setup is? Maybe post some photos on Facebook? I’m sure we can get you so your cars not flipping over.

    I thought the max pinion was 20T for the MF-01?

    • @jack-o-trades
      @jack-o-trades  4 месяца назад +1

      Nah, you can get a 25 in there without mods. I put my gearbox on the mill for the 28.
