Honestly speaking she have been preparing for a full length album back in 2018 before BlackPink released their The Album, and The Happiest Girl was meant to be on her upcoming album but there was a problem with her agency and her album management so at last the songs were leaked online but to save the songs and make fortune out of it she decided to sell her rights! She did give her songs to other artists in order to buy hers and The Happiest Girl was one of them, she sent it to SayGrace, YG and also many more, SayGrace did her own version but she never legally bought it and as for YG they offered her higher price for the song and she made the deal, so even though she sold it to YG she is still the original owner because she wrote the lyrics and produced the music so she will get the credit (in this case YG didn't change the lyrics so she was credited as hers, YG producer line was credited as well alongside with her because they made some changes to the instrument). Both versions are great... this one is more raw because it's a demo and it's more simple while BP did good job singing it and it's a lot more produced and mixed.. which is not a bad thing at all...that's how music industry works. BP did absolutely good job at singing this. But don't go here and talk shit about this version when it's literally a masterpiece that needs to be appreciated. I just hate when these toxic fans come and shit on other artists and think that BP are the best ever... like, c'mon... they're fantastic ofc, but respect others too especially the ones who write their own music.
