  • AB was not feeling the best this day, so i decided to have a walk around Haro and show you the sights.. It is a lovely little town with loads of charm.
Also, it was the first town in Spain to have electric street lights !!!
We hope you enjoy the video :)

Looks really nice, we went through on our way from Logrono to Bilbao but didn't see much more than the bus station. We spent 6 weeks in the area, 24 days in tiny Arnedillo. You had to do your shopping between 10 am and 14:00 as everything shut after that, with the exception of one mini-mart and the bars. It had a great butchers. We had to go to Mercadona in nearby Arnedo to do a big shop and we still had food left over at the end. We found the service in the restaurants locally quite bad though, a lot of fussy rules, no service until 8:30 pm, waiting a long time to order, 90 minutes on one occasion. The food was good, but burgers etc. and not particularly cheap. We just couldn't take being hungry and waiting so long though. It seemed the locals ate before we did. I would guess Haro is a bit bigger and we found Logrono really good, no bad service there. Rioja doesn't always welcome tourists in the smaller places I think. We did enjoy it but like you, we ate in a lot. The range of meats / fish in Mercadona was fabulous in comparison to the UK so it was no biggie really.

It was so much fun to stay there.. We live in the south west of Western Australia which is a popular wine region and we LOVE red wine, so we have wanted to visit The Rioja Region for such a long time.. Thank you for watching, leaving a comment and subscribing 👍👍 And we love your channel name, travelling truly is freedom 🥰

We loved it... Haro is an amazing town.... Living there?? Maybe not, San Sebastian is so close and has so much more to offer... Thanks for watching the video and leaving a comment 👍

I enjoyed this video, but it's a bit distressing to see so many vacant buildings. Maybe everyone moves to the bigger cities as happens in many other places around the world? It's still a charming place, though.

Thank you for your comments... The owner of our Airbnd there said the situation the past few years has closed a lot of local businesses in the Town.. Such a shame 😪

Yes we found the same, in particular in the smaller places it is just so hard to live there if you don't have transport. The buses are pretty bad. Haro is well connected actually so it doesn't explain it there. I think Spaniards like the newer flats for whatever reason, possibly just convenience.

Almost all of Spain is like this.
It's a shame, I don't know how it will be in 10 years' time, but it's a shame to see everything empty and for sale.
It doesn't give you a good vibe.
