- Hello again,
My family and I spent a weekend in Town.. I don't make it there as often as I'd like to so this was a great way to try restaurants that I have not been able to go to.. More than that, the joy of walking through Bombay, imagining how it used to be, the same constructions from a 100 years ago..
The spirit and the vibe is very different there and this time I did not have to rush off to head back because otherwise I'd get stuck in traffic. I had the time to sit and stare at the sea!

Born and raised in South Bombay, and that's how it's supposed to be pronounce also :). Although I live in SF now but it's always Bombay, Mumbai maybe for people who were born after it's called Mumbai!

Why is south bombay called town?
Hmm im not sure.. But I do know that most places I've gone to call their city center type of place "town" or other names like "old town," and "downtown." I would assume Colaba and Marine drive area is called town because that was what Bombay mainly so people going there from the suburbs would say, "we're going to to town."
