Thanks for your really helpful step-by-step video. It was super useful! Just that two of the ones I bought were a bit tough to assemble, and I had to use a hammer carefully to put the sides/panels of the square shelf together.
This tutorial explains all the steps succinctly--without a single word spoken to boot. 👍🏼 Thanks for saving me the headache of trying to figure out this contraption (talking about that leveling screw)! 😂
Thank you so much for showing how the brackets on the cabinet interface with the rail. I was having difficulty understanding how it functioned. I have five of these to install onto a brick wall so I wanted to fully understand how the cabinet mounts onto the rail before I started. Cheers!
Thank you so much for sharing this helpful video. It wasn't until I watched it that I realized I had missed a step in selecting the #1 board to start the assembly, and consequently, my approach was always 'not quite correct.' Once I understood the mistake, the assembly process became a breeze. 👍
Thanks so much! I had to tap, ok, hammer in pieces that he just pushed in with his hand, but I got it together. If it weren't for this video, I would've given up! Now I'm off to the hardware store for wall anchors.
Mine didn't come with that rail, but it's in the manual. Was this something I was supposed to buy separately? (I didn't see anything on the item tag in-store when I looked, but that doesn't mean it wasn't there)
Great tutorial, easy to follow step-by-step guide. What size wall plugs were used to hang the bracket on the wall. These doen't come with the kits so having a call out box with "8mm drill & 8mm wall plugs" (or whatever size they were) would be extreamly helpful. Thanks again.
I hate the Eket…after buying them, I discovered they couldn’t be mounted without a rail. So I bought a rail that would fit two next to each other just perfectly, then I discovered that this wasn’t possible, because the bracket doesn’t stick out enough to catch on the rail unless that rail is less than the width of the cabinet…absolute nightmare. What a waste of my time!
Hello. Thanks for the video. For the EKET wall-mounting rail, I didn't understand the purpose of the small screws shown at 3:39. Could you explain it to me in a nutshell?
I have to buy the hanging set separately... and it took a youtube video to figure that out 🤦🏻♀️silly me thinking there would just be simply holes in the back of the cube to attach it to the wall 🫠 Thank you for the video though, very helpful!
so, do we only adjust the screw (with allen key) to align or level the cabinet? I don't quite understand its purpose, especially being that I have to take the cabinet off the wall to adjust it and then replace it (i.e. re-hang it on the wall) to confirm if the adjustment is as desired.
And how do you faster the screw that makes sure the cabinet is fastened on the rail?? There is no hole in the backpanel… and you need to fasten it when the thing is on the wall. 4:26
I did another thing. I added an extra nail (or screw) on the way after the suspending rail. This reduced the play to a good extent. Thanks for your idea also.@@k-nemo
Even though I followed the steps, the cabinet still couldn't fit properly when I assembled the last wall due to the back panel. In the end, I simply removed the back panel. Everything was so easy to assemble.
Thank you for this video or I wouldn’t be able to understand how to really put it together!!I hate ikea assembly shit!!! I definitely think they make it harder for assembly enthusiasts and don’t tell anyone because this simple shelf shouldn’t be this god damn hard!!!!!!!!! I’ve been working on it for about 3 days for hours and hours . Definitely not easy or beginners friendly at all .
They are certainly far too overly-worried about "safety". The triangular steel braces, and bolted bracket stuff is overkill for a shelf that holds less than 40lbs.
My walls are plaster (old house from the 50s) so why screws/anchors? We bought hollow wall anchors but having a hard time getting them tight so it’s loose on the wall.
Sorry I had a typo. I was meaning to ask “which screws/anchors” to use for plaster. We had bought the screws with big white plastic anchors and they wore away a huge hole as we twisted them into the hole we drilled. so we thought we were meant to get the metal toggle ones instead to go in and anchor behind the plaster where it opens up but they are challenging too…hard to figure out how to make them stay in and be tight enough to hold up that metal rail.
Thank you for the video. I am getting one to use as a riser for the Blaliden. Does the back mounting corner brackets that were shown in this video would be good to reinforced the Eket??
My Danish cousin gave me a couple of units and I lugged them back to New Zealand in my suitcase. Now I find out that I need a rail to hang them up? The closest Ikea is in Australia 😂
Yo lo estoy armando ahora mismo y necesite ayuda, es por eso q busque videos. Gracias por eso. Y si compré todo, es obvio q se necesita algo para colgarlo. 😊. 🙏 Tusen takk.
The building project is not easy as it is shown because the demo has two pegs board on each side but we got three pegs board on each side. Every time we tried d to build, one peg of the last board has troubles. would you please make a demo with three pegs board and show us how to do it?
The back is too big to attach the last side. My holes were drilled really sketchy so the sides were hard to do. Maybe I should do a real assembly video.
Crap! There is no way the final piece slots in that easily! In the end I have just assembled it without the inner piece. Totally unimpressed that in 2024 IKEA is getting away with a crappy self assembly. Shame on you.
Pay attention to the instructions. The side pieces look almost identical but one has a deeper groove so the “inner piece” / board can slide in deeper and not be in the way when attaching the last side. That deeper groove piece is the one he labeled “1” here and it must go first. It’s a small detail most of us missed from the instructions, and why we’re here lol, but it is there.

The newest EKET has OSB like panels instead of the wood used in this video which makes it more fragile when assembling. 😢

Level adjustment (with allen key) may be useful when you have several cabinets next to each other.
Thank yall so much! I was so confused about what the Allen key was for
You really helped a lot. thank you
Are the screws just for adjusting height/ level. Cant see what they do. If you line is level, do they serve any other purpose
The screws are for position adjustment only. This may be necessary when the cabinets hang next to each other.

Thanks for the video. Is there a way to avoid this sideways sliding of the cabinet. This play is about 20mm which is too much for me
Glue, double-sided tape, secure the back wall with an additional anchor?
