Hello friends! Thanks for watching. We appreciate your concern about Mark honing ( sharpening) his knife over the fish. We realize he should not have done it over the fish ( he did wash the knife before using it). He did it there because I had set up the camera, but we will make sure to not do it over the food in the future. We are so grateful for all of you!

    Good Afternoon Hamm Family ❤️
It's a beautiful Spring day here in Virginia... despite the temperature, 75°F... a little to warm for me, especially when the breeze isn't as cool as I'd like. Still, the birds are singing and investigating my new bird feeder. I pray you're having a great day 🤗
    Cream Halibut Pasta & Flan
The pasta looks and sounds delicious. I love seeing Mark and the boys in the kitchen. Great job cutting up the fish Weston. Thank you Mark for answering my question - I have no Halibut at the moment, but I do have Cod and Tilapia. Great job with the Flan Bennett. I've never had Flan... perhaps I should try it, but with only one box... small steps. Mark calls my chopper my "Hulk Smash Tension Releasing Gadget" 😁
Salmon Fish Pie & Alaska Huckleberry Pie
I've never had fish pie, Salmon Quiche, but not a pie. It looks yummy. Love the de-skinning hack. I typically use my sharp filet knife. I'll have to try the hack. It also peaked Mark's curiosity, as he stopped what he was doing to watch. He's a "no skin" kinda guy. Me, if it's crispy, I'll eat eat. Watching the Salmon cook... made my mouth water... Mmmm. Onions: put a wet rag next to where you're slicing/chopping onions. It helps me, a lot. You can also try rinsing the onion under cold water before slicing/chopping. Hi Everett... Mr. Nom Nom Nom... LoL. I'm not sure what Hunter and Bennett are drinking in the background, but they appear to be enjoying it. The Huckleberry Pie/Cobbler looks delicious. It may have run due to too much moisture in the frozen berries. Next time, take them out ahead of time, rinse, spread out onto paper towels to dry; change towels as needed 🫐
Gochujang Garlic Noodles w. Moose & Alaska Co. Black Gold Barley Brownies
First, it's fun to watch you trying to pronounce unfamiliar or difficult to pronounce words. LoL... I'm laughing with you, not at you. I've had a similar dish at a restaurant before, but have never made it. Definitely will try. I'm not sure how I feel about the Brownies... I can't wrap my head around the whole "barley" thing... Hmm 🤔
Thank you for sharing these recipes and your Family adventures in the kitchen. Love it. Have a great day. Yah's Blessings ❤️

You have such a wonderful life with such a great family - you are an awesome mom, Mark is an incredible dad and your boys, Hunter, Bennett, Weston & Everett are all so precious. I became obsessed with your RUclips videos (found you during the pandemic), fascinated over the way you live your lives, organize your Costco shopping trips, manage your lives - am in awe of all you do and how you manage up in Alaska.
Thank you for giving us a glimpse of your lives and sharing what you do daily. It is comforting to know you are living your life caring for your family and others. You are truly an inspiration to us all.
p.s. and for the mean comments about you wanting to make help videos on how to do things, ignore them. You are teaching those that don't know and will benefit from experience and your tips and tricks. You don't have to be an expert to do that. Everyone starts somewhere.

Actually, she is not technically sharpening, she is honing. Honing straightens the edge to make it cut sharper.
But to your point, best to not to do it over food, and wipe it off after.
Also, do an equal number of swipes on each side.

What I do is cook my salmon skin side down and when I see it pink on the side I flip it over and turn off the heat and cover it while I get my plater ready to serve. Then I flip the salmon side down on the serving plate and the skin comes off so easily and don’t lose any flesh.

It's great to see the family working together to make great meals😊 I don't know if you have ever seen 'Worst Cooks In America', but each time a participant would handle a sharp knife with their index finger extended over the back of the blade, the host would take a red marker and mark up the entire finger, and then say ' keep it downtown'😄

Apparently you just need to soak the salmon in hot water for 5 minutes. About 140F/60C. It wont pull it off easily but it loosens the skin. You do still need to slice it to help it along. It is something I should try though. I had never considered it. I usually partially cook my salmon, flip it over and start pulling skin off.

Everything looks AMAZING and without a doubt tasted great. One thing I would struggle with in your situation is that I do not like fish of any kind!! Occasionally I will do a batter dipped fish sandwich but by the time I am ready to eat it there is more tarter sauce than fish! I am 54 and have tried all kinds over and over thinking by taste would change the older I get but nope!! I managed cod once in a foil packet with tons of butter and garlic. NOW, when it comes to seafood...I can eat me weight in it!! Clams, lobster, crab, scallops, shrimp and so on. Love it all and can't get enough. Go figure! My son on the other hand, I don't think he has had a fish he didn't like and will eat it anyway but raw. Just LOVES fish! BUT...he will NOT eat seafood!! Has tried it often and nope! Interesting how we are so opposite on that.
My mom sears her salmon in a pan skin down for like 30 seconds and peels it right off. Yes, another fish lover. Where my son must have gotten it from! LOL! I am the black sheep as my dad loves fish also as did his dad. Guess I would be eating a sandwich on fish night! LOL! Don't get me wrong...I would 100% cook it for my family though and did often. Just didn't eat it! LOL!
