None could have had a more grandiose plan then ultimecia. Guys like kefka and sepiroth wanted to become gods, where as she wanted, and almost managed to destroy all time and space in a singularity. That transcends anything any other villain has attempted.
MrTaurenshaman Technically though Caius Ballad succeeded in destroying time and space, he released the chaos which practically destroyed the universe and forced Bhunivelze to create a brand new one.
@@josephaversa2494 I'd say that's entirely down to opinion. FF13-2 to me is a good improvement on 13s issues, even if the story is a slight cop out. You'd have to state your basis for it being a terrible game.
@@Merrimint I know it's just my opinion. I played FF13 and FF13-2. The sequel is better in this case, but neither game gave me the experience I was hoping for. Instead of Active Time Battle or Turn Based, I played on auto battle. In the first game, I walked in a straight line for 20 something hours, and in the second game, the story is worse than FF10-2. The only good things about both games are the graphics and music.
Not taking anything away from her as she is a fantastic villain and a favorite, but Exdeath, and Kefka actually completed their goals destroying the world one way or another even with Kefka's defeat the world was MASSIVELY screwed up. Ultimicia did come very close like Sephiroth.
There's something wonderful about FF8's style of techno battle music that just never leaves you even after so long of not playing the game. This captures that feeling.
@@楽楽-v6z he only partially shot it down. He specifically said he had no clue whether the other two story writers had that intention, only that he didn't. 1/3 said no. That's by no means definitive proof one way or another.
Ultimecia is without a doubt one of the best and most powerful villains in fiction. Her persecution which led to her madness and craving for power to end all timeline and existence can be felt in the desperation of this theme.
Ultimecia is an insane Rinoa from the future who couldn't handle losing Squall to the one thing she wanted to control: Time. Consider her junction to Griever and her words before she squares of with squall in dissidia ("Shall we dance?") If it was more explicitly stated, what if FF8 was a love story about appreciating what you have within the moments given to you? what if by the end of it all...squall figured it out?
Griever was literally pulled out of Squall's mind during the final battle. Ultimecia reached in for what he believed to be the strongest creature in existence, gave it life, and made it battle against him. It has nothing to do with Rinoa. Additionally, look at the amount of times she tries to kill Squall (and Rinoa). If Squall was the source of her grief...wouldn't she try to be with him when she went in the past? Instead, she wants to achieve time compression, which would make HER the ONLY thing capable of existence. Where does reuniting with Squall factor in? It's an interesting theory, but please. It's not canon. I
Ultimecia can't read minds, Square Enix confirm that :v so...no, she doesn't pull out of Squall's mind. All the game focuses on "past and future can't be changed, things WILL happen"...so, yeah. This is why this game is so fantastic, is a tragic romance. Why do u think Ultimecia reach the Orphan in the past at the end of the game? because that's the place where she and Squall should meet again.
Rinoa is not Ultemicia (Artemisia). [On the theory that Final Fantasy VIII’s Rinoa is really Ultimecia: “No, that is not true,” Kitase said. “I don’t think I’ll incorporate that even if we do remake the game. But that being said, both Rinoa and Ultimecia are witches, so in that sense they are similar, but they’re not the same person.”]
@UltimeciaKnight In the end it mostly comes down to opinions. I personally think this version outmatches the original one. Also, I personally prefer the metal version to the heavy metal one version of one winged angel. Heavy metal usually turns me down most of the time.
Rinoa=Ultimecia is a nice idea which Square could certainly use to make her character more compelling ('cause let's be frank she is as meh as meh can be as a villain), but I don't believe that is actually what they had in mind and put into practice.

@楽楽 that is what one of them said. But there were three people in charge of plot development for ff8. While one didn't intend for Rinoa to be Ulti, the other two very well could have intended as such, and we don't have an interview to prove or disprove that.

I don't know how people dispute it. Sure sephiroth almost destroyed the planet, and kefka kind of did but didn't, but Ultimecia was prepared to destroy ALL SPACE AND TIME in a singularly. All space and time to blowing up a planet, what sounds more badass?
MrTaurenshaman Finally, someone who agrees. Plus, Sephiroth had Jenova behind him (sorta), Ultimecia had no one behind her and controlled witches through space and time including the very very big and very androgynous Adel. And then she put Squall's beloved pet Griever to fight against him, fused with him, lost half the body then lost her whole fucking face and whatever it was happened to the rest of it. Best last boss ever, indeed.
I never liked Kefka, he always looked like a clown to me. I much prefer Kuja and Seymour (though Seymour is not the last boss, he is quite a cool one).

I think SE should make a sequel or something to explain how Ultimecia came into existence...
Rinoa...noa...oa........
lol kitase just said that wasn't true

Yeah, and then square release dissidia with ultimecia wielding all Rinoas Weapon, and worst of all she said "Shall we dance?" in that game.
