rebranded anytone, no ssb, no good in au
@@hthring why not good in Australia?
@HamRadioDX well it's OK but there is more likely communication happening with ssb, but if you want to organise with someone to not use it it could work, and its a lot cheaper and works on 11 meter. I make and sell a remote head kit for the 788 which has the same body.
Well, this radio's appearance looks same as our RETEVIS RT95/Anytone AT-778UV, lol. 😂
No way 🤣🤣🤣🤣
If only it had SSB and CW. G7VFY
This
@@KE8ODY-WV-Ares-Ham-Dad-3O4 What????
Crazy that it doesn’t. It’s not a true 10m radio in my opinion, if it doesn’t have SSB or a tone board!? What purpose does it serve other than free band cb and fm for English cb. Now we have am fm cb. Am, fm, ham? nahh I’ll take a multimode radio! Its a digital galaxy 33hml or better, a neutered magnum 257!
@@MrBonez208 It's not as if adding SSB would add greatly to the cost of the radio.
Thanks for the video!
Thanks guys!
If you open it up the PCB will say "Anyone Apollo". They make a version of this that is a legal European multi standard CB radio. They also make a variant for Midland.
If I was going to buy a mono band radio it would need to be an all mode at least. I have the VHF/UHF model and it's great but this doesn't hit the mark for me. Maybe it makes more sense for the Australian market? Very informative video anyway, thanks for the review.
I have an Anytone 778UV that looks and operates almost identical to that. They must be sharing their documents over there 😁😁 Good review, I'm actually looking to get my first 10m radio soon, this may be a good candidate.
Yeah, looks identical to my new RT95. Very strange how its a 10m radio in the same case. Nice.
The RT95 is also made by AnyTone if anyone is curious.
Perhaps better known in Britain as the CRT2000H. There's also the CRT2000 that's only 15 watts.
Good presentation excellent review can it be modified to operate on 11meters
Good Question.
It's a shame it doesn't have SSB.
It appears to cover 10 metres to 12 metres according to description on the listing.
It's been around since 2017.
At the bottom of the PCB next to the L45 marking is a white wire jumper. I wonder what would happen if this was cut. Perhaps it would open 11m.
No SSB and only 40 watts? The Radioddity QT60 has SSB and 60 watts, it's also super easy to convert to work on 11 meters, which is the main reason I bought one. There is a lot you can do on 11 meters with 60 watts and a good antenna.
Damn, wished this video came out 2 days earlier as I just put through my order for the Anytone/RT95 like from your more recent videos.
My only gripe really is I wanted a smaller unit for airband and the RT95 won't AFAIK from the listed frequencies.
But this one in your current video does AM modulation so from my limited understanding means it could do airband?
Looks like I'm going to need to order both units and have almost identical ones in the house.. 😅
I have Hand Held QYT CB radio,
which does AM and FM, and
has the same display as this
Stryker one. 😊
You can fry an egg on top of the heatsink it does gets very hot.
Haden, here in the USA, there are strict laws on CB equipment. So to get past these laws, companies like this bend the rules. A LOT. That is not a ham radio. It's a CB (11meter) in disguise.
Anytone make this. In the UK there are two versions sold. One that's legal CB European multi standard and one that's legal CB European multi standard but can be fully opened up like this one. The locked version is firmware locked. Anytone Apollo is the usual model name.
That is made by AnyTone if anyone is curious.
CRT, Retevis, Anytone... striker
$139? In what country? Certainly not Australia!
all these mobile FM 10m radios are really missing out by not having SSB. the only people who really want a only 10m rig are people who are stuck on 10m IE technitian class hams. and they cant use FM so this radio is largely useless
I have an Any Tone that is identical to the 2nd radio
I thought Stryker was a hip replacement, as I saw in
a Doctors office.
I once had a more expensive Stryker 10 M all mode rig
which cobered 10, 12 meters
and CB all mode about 80 watts.
I had to ship it back to the dealer
for the CTCSS tone board,
which took several months,
and I was glad to have it added. 😊
Chirp compatible?
I don't believe so no
Thats an Anytone mic
And no pa function
No SSB NO sale dont waste my time.....
Wish you would talk Aussie Dollars, I almost fainted when i clicked the link, AU$378.92 😞
Exchange rates…are a pain
