  • The music of 'Taal' is forever etched in the mind of us 90s kids growing up in India and here's my tribute that blends a lot of Ishq Bina(Kavita Krishnamurthi version), a bit of Kadha Kelu (MMKR Illayaraja) and a bit of Anjali woven together with original music and arrangements - a portrait of all the music I grew up listening to.
The song features the amazing Colombian percussionist Daniela Serna and string players Thea Mesirow(Cello) and Carrie Frey (Viola).
Band: Maxime Cholley (Drums), Marcelo Maccagnan (Bass), Marco Bolfelli (Guitar)
Recorded, Mixed and Mastered by Daniel Alba
    Video by Scott Kalberer

All right, Ishq Bina is prominent. Did I catch some of Salaam-E-Ishq or what else is mixed in this? Wonderful job, very delightful!

Ah I can see how it sounds a bit like Salaam-E-Ishq but it is actually a Tamil song from an old movie called 'Kadha Kelu' and the humming is from another Tamil song Anjali.
