Fun experiment Trina! I think the alcohol marker collage works well with the other collage in contrasting marks. Another win for the sky! I love the turquoise juxtaposed with the orange land as well. Nice! 😍🤩😍
Thanks again Trina. Hint of turquoise is so nice. The alcohol markers seem to come in big sets, will see if l can get some selected colours in our art shop. I'm not familiar with the med exam paper here in Scotland, would deli paper be similar. I have used wet strength tissue thats great to work with.......Alioban ❤
I just bought some med exam paper on Amazon as the wet strength tissue paper is super expensive to get here in Australia (100 sheets 27’ x 19’ is $53 or the Carnival brand is over $100 for 240 sheets). The med exam paper is coming from the US, but two big rolls of Vakly 18 inches x 125 feet each are coming & only cost $51 total including shipping! I really hope it’s good to use. It’s still less expensive than ordinary tissue paper. Another artist recommended that brand & it’s the only one I could find that has the tissue paper look that was a great price. Paws & fingers crossed 😁 Soooooo much Gelli printing & watercolour in my future! Although if I could get reasonably priced wet strength tissue paper, I’d get that for sure, as it’s acid free & really sturdy. I don’t know if the med exam paper is acid free. But I want to use it in collage under encaustic wax mainly, so hopefully won’t be an issue 😁
@@MixedMediaArtByTrinaI’m still playing with your techniques & just used some torn paper & a vertical mode with some Brushos to create some texture for the first layers of a Rocky mountainside. Was planning to do watercolour over the top, but went a smidge overboard with my Brushos 🤦♀️ (must practice less is more less is more less is more BEFORE I paint next time lol!) so might have to try some wax resist & Kuretake paints to get a second layer. Still room for my sky though. Wish I had some sanguine like you used in your next video as I loved the glow it gave your sky. What brand is that from Trina? 😊 Carrie
Love the pops of turquoise! Sometimes working our way out of something we don’t like makes way for something we love! What alcohols marker brand did you use? Great job!
So true! They are Caliarts. I purchased them last year when I was watching my friend’s kiddos for an afternoon. Haha! We needed something to keep busy. 😍
@@MixedMediaArtByTrina got to try out some cheap ones! I wonder if the paper was sealed o after the marks were made if then it could be sprayed with water and collaged as normal sand smearing?
Hi, I’m a new subscriber from Korea! Thank you for sharing your amazing techniques, they’ve been so helpful. I’ve tried some of them and had a lot of fun! I’m having trouble finding the exam paper you mentioned, so I was wondering if any transparent, non-glossy paper would work as a substitute?
Have you got watercolour ground Trina? The collage bits look awesome & really brought the piece together. But I was thinking of covering up some of my excessive resist texture on my first landscape attempt, and thought I might try some watercolour ground (if it will stick). Then I can use that for texture & paint over it as well.

Amazing as always, Trina! ❤❤❤ Loved it!
Thank you so much!!😍
Love your analysis at the end of each of your paintings, Trina, , very interesting to hear your thoughts on what you've just created.
Thank you so much!😍
So so inspiring. Trina, how about turning the paper upright and doing one "vertical " piece?❤
I definitely like working vertical as well. I’m in a landscape phase at the moment but who knows! 😍
@@MixedMediaArtByTrinaLet's wait and see your verticals, hugs❤

@@swl9270 that should work. I would use the gelli plate technique like I did for the oxide inks. 😍

Welcome!! You can always use tissue paper as an alternative. Thanks for watching! 😍

I haven’t used watercolor ground. My guess it is more like gesso so you should be fine for it to adhere to the paper. Let me know how it works! 😍
the sea is falling off the paper ?
Oh no! 😂
