Vow really remembered my childhood days. My grandma used to make these for us. I did not know the recipe, but now I am going to try all this. Thank you for sharing the traditional Mangalorean recipes. God bless you and your family.
Excellent reminded me of my mother if any unexpected guests come she would make one of these . Completely forgot about ginger thambuli thanks mam your recipes are taking us back to our roots .Highly appreciate and continue the good work for the next generation.🙏🙏
Thank you madam - I presume you are a female - a lady, since you have not given any information about yourself. Thank you, for the tambuli recipes. Actually I was looking for the Garlic Thambuli recipe. but I got the picture, of how to go about preparing it.... The various different kinds of Tambulis brought back a lot of memories of my hometown, in North Kanara. I was wondering whether to use ... a) Coconut ground ..... OR.... b) Buttermilk or Dahi .... Thanks to you I now know, that I can add both and make it even tastier. God bless you and thank you for your channel and videos. BTW, I am a 70+ year old man, living in Cleveland, Ohio, USA for the last 48 years.
Loved it. I want to know what all is served in a udupi meal for lunch/ dinner. Pls can you share? In a similar context, can u share what are called huli / thambuli/ gojju etc n their uses... it would help understand udupi meal!
In ondelaga (brahmi) thambuli, we should not saute ondelaga. Should be added raw in the jar.If we saute or fry the brahmi We will lose it's medicinal properties
Though the Brahmi while fried in the correct manner the medicinal values will be retained by giving the good taste or else if it is added in raw then the raw smell will spoil the tate of Tambuli
You can make these types of Thambulis with many other things (which I do): Mango ginger (Mavina shunti) Pudina Doddpatre Nelli Kaayi Where I live, sometimes I don’t get Mango ginger so I use frozen green mango pieces and regular ginger and the flavor is pretty close to Mango Ginger
Similarly you can make coriander leaves, amla, roasted til, poppy,,boiled ridge gourd, raw mango(no butter milk),ripe mango(no buttermilk),when using buttermilk add little pepper and jeera,
